Season IV

Who gets who?

The trio pose with Ajay Devgn, brand ambassador of the Northern Knights.

The forth season of the Indian Premier League? PC Style will see 5 zonal teams take on each other. A fresh start and brand new teams is what we see this season to go with new owners as well.

Central Cougars seem to have struck the right balance! They have solid Indian guys in every department and their foreign players make them look the most 'correct' team in every sense. They have got Jacques Kallis who has been an impact player in every season of the league thus far. It will be interesting to see how Corey Anderson goes in the league as a lot will be expected off him after all his heroics with the bat and not to forget his habit of picking up wickets when given the ball for New Zealand.

If someone wants a keeper, please contact the owners of Eastern Eagles. They have as many as 6 guys who can keep wickets! That apart, their batting looks scary. They have guys who can tear apart the opposition bowling and also guys who can apply themselves and take their team through. Pace bowling is pretty nice with Dale Steyn, highest wicket taker so far in the league heading it. Spin of Mishra and odd overs from Maxwell will definitely help.

Top 10 run scorers in the IPL PC Style

If we are to go by the previous seasons stats, Northern Knights are clear winners as far as the batting department goes. Out of the top 10 highest run scorers in 3 previous seasons, 5 belong to the Knights this season! Virat Kohli was unarguably going to be the hot pick as soon as the drafts started. Samuels, co-owner of the Knights was the first one to pick him on time! As we see the above graphic, Kohli, Sehwag, Pietersen, Gambhir and Amla all will be playing for the Knights in this season. Knights also have the luxury of Indian all rounders who can do as much with both bat and the ball to go with their impressive bowling attack.

Southern Spartans seem to be very solid in both batting and bowling. They have impact players, people who can perform on a consistent basis and win them matches. All their players seem pretty good. However, they might lack in the all rounders category as only Yuvraj Singh seems the one capable of doing well in both the departments. It will be interesting to see what composition the owners come up with as this team has the potential everywhere we see.

Western Wolves don't have many big names as far as the Indian players go but they do have players who are full in potential. They have picked the in form George Bailey and Kumar Sangakkara as their foreign batsmen and both their all rounders are very capable of turning matches single handed. Their bowling lineup is interesting as they have picked young Indian pace bowlers along with England's Steven Finn who is expected to lead the attack. Spin attack is pretty solid as well. It will be interesting to see how well these players can perform as a unit and yield results.

Owners, please name your captains now and post your XIs for the warm up matches which are as follows. (Min. 7 Indians and Max. 4 foreign players)

Warm up matches

Central Cougars v Western Wolves
at Jaipur

Pitch Report: Expected to be a high scoring game.

Southern Spartans v Eastern Eagles
at Bengaluru

Pitch Report: Batter friendly, but might do something early on for the pacers with the new ball.

Western Wolves v Northern Knights
at Mumbai

Pitch Report: Batter friendly early on and might deteriorate later in the innings and assist the spinners.

Eastern Eagles v Central Cougars
at Kolkata

Pitch Report: Expected to assist slower bowlers.

Northern Knights v Southern Spartans
at Delhi

Pitch Report: Dry pitch and runs might be hard to come by if the batsmen don't apply themselves.

I feel Corey Anderson is rated too high than his right potential. I will not be surprised if he turns out to be just another big hitter who is good in one innings and not in the next 10-12.

Anyways, we would start things off with most locals.
