Round 14 preview​

Last round of the inaugral Indian Premier League promises to be an incredible one! Not a single match is a dead rubber as 7 teams fight it out for 3 playoffs spots. As the playoffs approach us, let us have a look at what's in store for the final round -

Bengal Tigers v Delhi Duelers at Kolkata (Pitch: Poor)​

Bengal Tigers have to win if they are to stay in the competition but, that too doesn't guarantee them a playoffs spot. They will want one of Punjab or Mumbai to lose their matches and that will seal the playoffs berth for them given their better NRR. For Delhi Duelers, it is pretty straight forward. Win and they're in. If they lose, they crash out.

Delhi will look to Lasith Malinga to
provide them with early breakthroughs

Mumbai Mirchis v Bengaluru Brave Brats at Mumbai (Pitch: Poor)​

Mumbai Mirchis have to win and win by some margin and then depend on other results to go their way to get in the playoffs. There's a slim chance of them going through. But, certainly possible. Bengaluru Brave Brats just need to win and that will be enough for them. If Hyderabad lose their match that will ensure Bengaluru a top spot! If Bengaluru lose, they still have a chance to get in but, it will come down to what other results are.

Will Bengaluru be brave enough to leave out Gayle in a crunch game?

Hyderabad Hulks v Punjab Lions at Hyderabad (Pitch: Poor)​

Hyderabad Hulks are the only team to have qualified for the playoffs. But, they would want to win the match and top the standings table which gives them an extra shot. So, they won't take it easy. On the other hand, it is a must win game for Punjab Lions. If they don't they are out.

Who will Dhoni open the batting with against the likes of Dale Steyn?

Jaipur Jaguars v Chennai Cyborgs at Jaipur (Pitch: Excellent)​

Both the teams need to win to stand a chance of getting in the playoffs. And, then depend on other results. Chennai Cyborgs have the edge if they win as their NRR is great and that might help them sneak in. Jaipur Jaguars will need to put up one more solid performance as in their previous game and hope for the best.
