On the occassion of independence day, I wonder how many people on PC saw NDTV India's show in which they asked some Members of Parliament certain questions (which I'll reproduce below) and I was sorry to find that most of the honourable parlimentarians quizzed got them wrong:
1. Who composed the national anthem ? (Jan Gana Man)
2. Who wrote the national song ? (Vande Mataram)
3. Which colour appears first on the national flag ?
4. From where has the "chakra" (wheel) on the national flag been taken ?

It was a pathetic display by the MPs. Of the 15 or so quizzed, not one could get all right.

Just for the record here are the answers:
1. Rabindranath Tagore
2. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay
3. Saffron
4. From the Ashokan Pillar at Sarnath

True. August is full of festivals. Let's see:Rakhi (the siblings or more correctly the brother-sister day) Independence day and Janmasthami (on the 16th). Probably something else as well which I am forgetting ...
