Brilliant work! The draw looks favourable now and India will have to bowl so well to win the match. Great work Suren and I love the classic match feature:D.

What a feature that was Suren. Brilliant! Shame the rain has come down to spoil India's large chance of winning. Hopefully the rain can stop and play will resume under lights :)

This doesn't look too promising for India, they will need to simply destroy the South African batting line up to force them to follow on, and bowl them out once again to have a simpler chance of winning.
Also fantastic presentation Suren, have some reps.

Well. This rain is making mess everywhere :p. India should have got this one under thier belt.

:happy Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments and views :happy

Updates coming soon :)

love the classic match feature Suren, very original. Lets hope play gets back on, and India can carry on their very good start under lights. Well done mate ;)

Play Finally Resumed Under Lights!
( Gibbs and Hall remained Unbeaten at End Of Day3 )

Well, around 5.15PM, the final inspection took place.. and umpires were much contented to resume the play again. Soon official confirmation came that it is going to resume at 5.20PM under lights which both the captains agreed. It was pretty tough work for the groundsmen to clear off the water from the outfield which still looked wet. The fans were happy to hear this news about the continuation of this game. Finally, at 5.21PM, all the players arrived at the field including the SA batsmen,Hall and Gibbs. Dravid operated the remaining overs with Kumble and Harbhajan singh.

After Rain Effects.

Well, the poor visibility became the main problem for the batsmen. They were repeatedly reporting this to the umpires but umpires were not convinced. The play continued... Both Gibbs and Hall were having some problems in getting the clear sight of the ball. This was not looking as a good sign for SA dressing room especially against the spin twins.

Hall/Gibbs frequently had their discussion convincing each other to stay calm and maintain patience. :p Even under flood lights, it seems, it was difficult to get sight of that red ball! ;) Apart from batsmen, the fielders near the boundary had tough time too. It remained wet and it became tough for chasing the ball. So with great difficulties, the play still continued.

Even Bowlers Not Happy!

Added to batsmen and fielders, bowlers got frustrated with the conditions too! Both Kumble and Bhaji were finding it difficult to turn the ball. The ball gets wet as soon as it goes to the outfield for single or more! Kumble, though is not a good turner of the ball, got frustrated in gripping the ball which was preventing him to suprise the batsmen especially with flippers.

In other end, Harbhajan also found it tough to grip the ball and to get a huge turn. In other words, spin was totally reduced by wetness in ball. Infact, both the bowlers and Captain himself were wiping off the ball with a towel so often(almost ball to ball) but still, it didn't prevent the frustration of bowlers.

Finally, Explosion of Runs!

Soon after, batsmen started to go after the bowlers blindly.:p They were very much aware that there was no much spin from the bowlers.. this enhanced their easyness further. Hall played some magnificent shots against both the spinners.. and finally reached his half century and raised his bat towards the dressing room and remaining crowd left in the stadium. Hall recieved applauses from everyone for his brilliant fifty!

In other end, Gibbs took some risks of going over the top.. Luckily the ball was landing in no-man's area as only two of the fielders were made to stand near the boundary by Dravid! ;) So Gibbs was lucky on some occasions.. Anyways, it all counts as it kept on accelerating the scorecard. There was no change in bowling strategies by Dravid inspite of lot of runs coming from last few overs.

Also, it went almost ten minutes past 6 but no signs of removing the bails from umpires. Once again, Gibbs and Hall reported about the bad light they are facing and atlast, umpires got convinced and removed the bails off indicating the end of Day3. The players left the field.

SA Scorecard,End OF Day3.

Well, the final session, where little cricket took place, belonged to SouthAfrica. They manage to get more runs than they expected... all credits to wet conditions that frustrated the bowlers, reduced the spin and also some risks taken by the batsmen. Only thing India has to do is, to forget this last few minutes of cricket that resulted from bad lights.. and refresh themselves on Day4 and have to bowl extraordinary to capture remaining 8 wickets before the follow-on margin. Meanwhile SouthAfrica wud be wanting this pair to continue as long as they can. They were already pleased with rain-delay and runs they got in last few minutes. Overall, the contest between these two teams is still going ON!:)

SA : 108/2 ( 48 Overs,1st Innings )
A.Hall : 57*(135)
H.Gibbs : 20*(42)

India Lead by 420 Runs at the End of Day3.

Last 9 Overs : 43 Runs, 0 Wickets.

India : 528/5(Dec) ( 1st Innings )

How did you get a test match under lights? Did you somehow make the test kit the ODI kits and play a Day/Night game? Either way it's really cool :)
