India's Opening pair for WC 2011.

As all know The WC of Odi cricket is eagerly awaited. Many teams are practising for it like SA making stadiums similar to subcontinent.

But For India one big question is this who will open the innings.
indian openers Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, And Sachin Tendulkar are all great batsmen and are at their peak forms of their careers.
the likes of Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay is out of contest.

So who do you think would open the innings.
Sehwag - Sachin
Sachin - Gambhir
Gambhir - Sehwag.

Easily Tendulkar-Sehwag. It was a big mistake last time round when he was batting at 4. If you want to make the most of him, make him open I say.

Sachin HAS TO OPEN! Nowhere else can he play. Basically its between Sehwag and Gambhir as to who should open with Sachin. Gambhir fits in better at No. 3 and so Sachin-Sehwag is the best option. Also Sehwag is murderous in the field restriction period and suppose Sachin and Gambhir bat out the initial powerplay overs and one of them gets out, Sehwag comes in during the non-Powerplay overs and his strokeplay will be greatly restricted.

There isn't that much time tbh. A few ODI series' between now and the WC.

Thankfully, we are playing a few of em at home against quality opposition so we should make the most of that. We aren't as dominant in ODI cricket at home as we are in test cricket. Something for us to work on.

Definitely Sehwag-Tendulkar for me. I have no idea why they stuck Sachin randomly in at number 4 during the WC07. To fit a guy like Uthappa of all people in too, who would probably do much better at 6 or something.

We'll probably see a similar lineup to what we have currently. I'd like to see more consistency from Raina (Who by the way played very well today) and give Kohli a bit more of an extended run.
