Just got my copy of cricket 2005 and initial impressions are that it is better than I was expecting!

Have played for a bout an hour so far and personally its a lot harder than previous versions of the cricket series.

Bugs havent appeared yet either! Ive had rain that stopped, fielding thats more accurate, lots of edges going to hand, no byes, save files that seem to load up with the correct squads as well.

Some of the graphics are a bit dodgy but far as game play it seems better than I was expecting (although my expectations were a low to start with!!)

Biggest disapointment for me so far when looking at the game options etc is that the tours appear to be the same tours as in the previous version, no new ones found! Although I havent gone through the actual matches on each tour yet!!

Will report again once have played for longer but I have to say Im pleasantly suprised!!

can you check if d/n games are loaded properly i.e. it's night in 2nd innings after you load?

to b honest thought game was better than expected
but having troubles with misfielding it is happening quite
a bit

The commentry is appalling compared to BLIC,very similar to last years and very bitty and unevenly seamed together.

How could the EA not pay attention to commentary. Its a small thing to implement. They just had to record some new phrases, cliche one liners and they would have been good to go. I don't know why they left the commentary alone. I think its a wel known fact that EA was shooting for Cricket 2006 but had to release the game early to be able to compete with BLIC and that could one of the reasons why lot of stuff has been left untouched from C2k4.

Anyway, from the demos played and reviews it feels that BLIC and C2K5 are both lot different and give variety to a cricket gamer which was not there in EA cricket game days. I think both the games will have their audience and do well in market.

I've only played the game for about half an hour and I have been impressed so far.

I autoplayed through a test match as the Windies against Zimbabwe having a bowl and bat every now and then. The AI seem to set more challenging targets from what I've seen, I made Zim bat first and they made 369 all out (not bad at all for Zimbabwe) which the Windies replied with 349. Zimbabwe then made 301 all out setting the Windies a target of 322 to win. The West Indies won comfortably in the end by 7 wickets making 323/3 and Brian Lara getting 160*.

Everything seems fine, even the fielders seem to have slowed down from the demo and move at a reasonable pace.

The only gripe I've found is with the PS2 version only it seems. It might just be my console but when a bowler is making his run up in a test match, there is a small patch on the back of his shirt which is missing and you can just see the player's skin. It's not a big problem but it can be annoying. I've tried the nets too but this problem doesn't arise here. I'll check to see if the same problem is present in 1 dayers.

It's getting better, played a test match for a few hours and i'm enjoying it more than i was at the start. This is the PS2 version and it is on normal, quite hard though. I (England) was bowled out for 220 against Pakistan. They are 20odd without loss, the bowling has improved a lot.

has anyone else noticed this patch on the bowler back on the ps2 if so is it really big or just small
