Instigators do not get punished enough - Anil Kumble

I guess something similar happened in the recent test between Johnson, Benn and Haddin.

That's all it is, a guess.

The Aussie batsmen were doing nothing to entice Benn, just a normal block from Haddin and Benn tried to have a shy at the stumps.

Another fail thread.

You forget the part where Haddin started the entire thing by pointing his bat at Benn and inflaming the situation that could have been over before it even started. And then you go around calling other people "bias".

No I didn't forget it, but why did Benn have a shy at the stumps then?

The incident was all over, not by Benn's standards.

I'm all for a policy of players being allowed to say what they want really, as long as it's not racist or something. Who cares if someone tries to 'sledge' another player, just get on with it.

The problem for me is when it turns physical though, or threats of that kind of thing. I don't mind seeing a bit of verbal, but players being pushed and blocked off (on purpose, not the Benn/Johnson thing) I don't think there's a place for in the game.

Oh, and shying at the stumps, if the batsman just stood there, let the bowler do it and just hit the ball back at them as hard as possible, they'd soon stop doing it when the batsman is in his crease.

Is that the 1st time you seen someone take a shy at the stumps when the batsman is still at the crease? India and England got Inzamam out like that. And Benn didn't have a shy, he pretended like he would. He never threw the ball.

I've seen much worse things happen like that between Warnie and KP :laugh

I have come to the conclusions that Aussies tries everything to get a player involved in controversy. They know they have no match for Benn, so they thoughts it's better to annoy him. Infact the Aussies get annoyed easily with good performance of opposition.
Wish Haddin would have been struck by Roach rather than Ponting. :p

Definition of sledging.

Yep that's what they only know to do.

You sure about that? Because Im pretty sure its their batting, bowling and fielding that made them the most dominant team in world sport the last 12 odd years

Roger that
Don't shoot the messenger :happy

I really hope this isn't Kumble trying to get back at the Australian team for the Sydney Test Match.

BTW, the title makes not sense

Kumble is not of that type. Ask many of your own players, they will also agree that Kumble is a very cool headed guy who is not of the "take revenge" type. That is why when he said those words "Only one team was playing within the spirit of the game" after that Sydney match, it got so much attention from the media because Kumble is not known to say such things because he very easily gets over issues and doesnt talk about it (he and Dravid are very similar characters).

Kumble would know, been following the Aus WI series closely :doh

What makes you think he hasn't? Maybe he was watching at that exact time or are you Kumble junior and you were with him at the time?
