International Cricket Captain Competition

Essex (me) v Glamorgan
National League

My inform player Tudor has come down with a virus days before our One Day match against Glamorgan and will be sorely missed.
I replace Tudor with Palladino.

I win the toss and elect to bat.
I get off to a cautious start before Cook is dismissed by Thomas.
Jefferson at the other end is in fine touch and his keeping up a solid run rate.
Saunders and A.Flower fall in quick succession and I am in trouble at 3-71 after 20.
G.Flower and J.Foster then play great support for Jefferson as he is smacking the ball to all parts.
Once they have been dismissed Irani comes in for a bit of fun in the last 10 scoring a better than a run a ball 29.
Jefferson scores 120* with a strike rate over 100

Glamorgan get off to an extremely slow start and never recover.
Tight bowling from Gough prevented them from scoring freely.
Aparet from Ganguly and Maynard they dont put up much of a fight and I win this one by 33 runs.
Thats 2 one day wins in a row and the team is finding a bit of form early on in the season.

With Dean out it was always going to be a big ask but Derbyshire put up a great fight.

It seems as though not many of the players competing have posted any results yet. Its the same few people contributing.

Not sure anyways heres my next match.
Essex (me) v Somerset
Championship

I batted first on a batting track and post an amazing 701 spearheaded by skipper Andy Flower scoring 262* and Great support from another one of my bowlers and kiwi Andre Adams who scored a breathtaking 156.
The two combined for a club record 8th wicket partnership of 303.
Jefferson continued his run of form with another ton and Gough contributed a quick 46*.

It all turned pear shaped for us as Marcus Trescothick single handedly took the game away from us equalling Flowers score. They made 575 and just got over the follow on score.

I'd love to contribute more but for me atm, 1 a day is too much.

I reckon something like 3 a week (Monday-Sunday), or one every other day would be better.

well it doesn't matter when you do them just as long as we finish our seasons close together!!
