I am back with renewed enthusiasm for reporting on the game and will use this thread to report on random tours and tournaments I play using the IC Helper.
I will be using the Ground Specific Weather Conditions, Injury Rules from Welcome Back to the West Indies, and this time allowing in game Injuries to happen.
I will be creating a few players here and there with the Player Generator or using a card from the New Faceless Ones if appropriate.
I will be leaping around through time a lot but mostly focusing on 90s cricket for now because I love the teams of that decade.
This thread will feature T20s and ODIs in times before they existed because I would like to try out some older Test players in white ball cricket who never got to test themselves in those forms of the game.
The first tour I will report on is a Pakistan tour of Bangladesh in 1997/8 for which I am giving Bangladesh their Test status 3 years early.
The Bangladesh squad will be restricted to players who made their First Class or List A debuts before or during the 1997/8 season.
Pakistan have chosen a squad of 20 players for the Test leg of the Tour, with a few new faces who impressed on the Pakistan A tour of England in 1997 set to feature.

Bangladesh A v Pakistanis - 4 day match - at Chittagong - 1997/8 - Match Preview

The Pakistanis take on Bangladesh A in a 4 day match at Chittagong to begin their tour, an important opportunity for fringe players on both sides.
Being the only First Class match of the tour outside the Tests the Pakistanis have elected to test the depth of their squad, resting a number of first choice Test players from their XI.
All 11 players on the Bangladesh A team will be making their First Class debut in my replay world in this match.
The Pakistanis are expected to win this one but Bangladesh A will be hopeful of putting up a good fight in their home conditions.

Pitch: (1999-2005) - 62 - A well prepared pitch which should play pretty well for at least the first 4 days, with just enough life to encourage the fast bowlers at the start.
The wicket is expected to take a fair bit of spin late in the game but this should be a pretty good contest between bat and ball.
Day 1 Starting Pitch: 7A - Fast Paced Wicket
Day 1 Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny
Toss: Bangladesh A, who elected to Bat first

Bangladesh A v Pakistanis - 4 day match - at Chittagong - 1997/8 - Match Report

Bangladesh A batsman Al Sahariar makes sensational debut

Bangladesh A batsman Al Sahariar is being hailed as the "Bangladeshi Bradman" after scoring 120 and 93 in a sensational First Class debut in a 4 day match against the Pakistanis at Chittaong
Comparisons with the Don seem premature but the young batsman now boasts a Bradman like First Class batting average of 106.50 after his first match, a mark he will struggle to maintain given his X is on 4.
Though Bangladesh A went on to lose the match by 7 wickets the batting of Al Sahariar in both innings will live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.
The Pakistanis won the match with 17 minutes to spare on Day 4 after being set a target of 169 in the 4th innings on a pitch which was offering Some Help to the Spinners.
Batting at Number 3, Al Sahariar scored 120 out of Bangladesh A's first innings of 252 as left arm spinner Mohammad Hussain bowled well to take 4 wickets.
Pakistan A took a first innings lead of 142 thanks to Mohammad Ramzan 67, Saleem Malik 95, and Azhar Mahmood 141 with wickets shared around by the Bangladeshi bowlers.
Al Sahariar left the crease in tears after scoring 93 in the 2nd innings and narrowly failing to join an elite club of those who have made a century in each innings on debut but was given a standing ovation by a packed crowd.
Bangladesh A keeper Khaled Mahmud delayed the Pakistanis with a fighting 70 but a target of 169 to win wasn't enough on a pitch which stayed pretty good for most of the match.
Mohammad Hussain finished the match with 8 wickets and Azhar Mahmood backed up his century with some good bowling in the 2nd innings but Man of the Match on debut was the sensational Al Sahariar.

Bangladesh v Pakistan - 1st Test - at Dhaka - 1997/8 - Match Preview

Bangladesh go into their debut Test full of hope after a decent performance by Bangladesh A in the 4 day tour match.
Pakistan however are heavy favourites and it will take a massive upset for them to lose.
The pitch looks a poor one, and should favour Pakistan as they have chosen their 3 Fast bowlers for this one and Bangladesh lack any bowlers of real pace.
Bangladesh will rely on their spinners for most of their wickets with 4 set to play this game backed by the part time offspin of captain Aminul Islam.
The "Bangladeshi Bradman" Al Sahariar makes his Test debut in his favoured opening role, can he maintain his stellar start?

Pitch: 19 - Hard and bumpy, this wicket will always give the faster bowlers a chance.
There is also the prospect that it will not stand up to 5 (or even 4) days play and batting could become a nightmare in the later stages.
It is doubtful that this wicket is really up to Test standard.

Day 1 Starting Pitch: 6A - Hard pitch with excessive bounce
Day 1 Weather: 2 - Hot and sunny
Injuries/Suspensions: Pakistan - Mohammad Yousuf (Breach of discipline, fined by management, suspended - 1 match)
Debuts: Bangladesh - All; Pakistan - Azhar Mahmood

Bangladesh v Pakistan - 1st Test - at Dhaka - 1997/8 - Match Report

Pakistan thump Bangladesh by World Record margin

Pakistan won the 1st Test against Bangladesh at Dhaka by a massive World Record margin of 1088 runs, beating the current mark in First Class cricket of 722 runs.
Wasim Akram was on fire in the 1st innings of both teams with bat and ball, scoring an unbeaten 218* off 203 balls with 30 fours and 5 sixes then taking 5-7 with the ball.
At one point in Pakistan's 1st innings they were 249/5 and Bangladesh were in the game but the lower order feasted on some poor bowling from an inexperienced attack.
Pakistan captain Wasim Akram added 210 with Waqar Younis for the 10th wicket take Pakistan past 700 in their 1st innings, Saeed Anwar's classy century almost forgotten in the carnage.
Bangladesh left arm spinner Mohammad Rafique showed great courage under fire in taking 8-191 on Test debut and looked a class above the rest of the attack.
Bangladesh were blasted out for 104 in their first innings, handing the visitors a first innings lead of 639, before Wasim ruthlessly elected to bat again with roughly 2 and a half days still left in the match.
Pakistan posted 550 in their second innings, a good opening partnership by Saeed Anwar and Aamer Sohail and a century to Saleem Malik the batting highlights, along with a 2nd good innings on Test debut by Azhar Mahmood.
Mohammad Rafique again bowled well, taking another 6 wickets to finish with figures of 14-347 on debut, a replay record which might take some beating.
Set a ridiculous target of 1190 to win home side were bundled out for 101 in their 2nd innings with Waqar Younis taking 5-25 to lose by a new World Record margin of 1088 runs.
