International Emerging Talent League | Indefinite hiatus

Anyway, Iridium, will you be taking the players Cricinfo ODI averages literally, or will you be changing them slightly. e.g. i've found a 21 year-old batsmen with an ODI average of over 70.

No. I'll use those as a guide to my final ratings. For example, Jonathan Trott averages 54.38 in ODIs. I wouldn't rate him at 54, that's far too high. I would take into account how many matches he's played and his current form.

One question Iridium - Will this league contain injuries? And does age affect the playing skills of player?

No, there's no injuries. I usually don't factor in age. Usually it's his average and current form which hold the most bearing to his final rating.

Well but Truman has clearly stated not to use the list initially because of the mad rush at first ... while you guys on the contrary say the list must be used. Confused for the first time here !! :(

Yea, sorry if I didn't make it clear. Don't use the list when the draft starts. Just post your picks in your post. This is to prevent the confusion that's bound to happen when a list is used at the start of the draft. The list will probably be used once everything settles down.

Just to clarify the 1 player from an associate rule. You only need one player from either Afghanistan, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands and Scotland. You do not need one player from each nation.

However you will need one player from each major Test playing nation (Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies).

Any player (whether it be veteran, U23 or regular) counts towards the nation they represent (eg, If you chose Ricky Ponting as your veteran, he would count as your one Australian player)

I would have said it would have been better if you let us have the option of choosing how to play out the draft, with when to choose your U23 players and stuff. Slowly getting through my list at the moment.

I had that idea originally but I thought this would be easier. I'll change it back because I just made a spreadsheet to track your picks so I can let you know if you're doing anything wrong.

Ok, I've changed the draft order. The onus now is really on you to keep track of the players you have.

Ok, cool. It adds a bit more skill to it. I don't know I'm going to go for first. It might be a good idea to go for the U23 players first and then pick the regular players later so the side is better all-round but then again it might be better to get a few star players that have played less than 50 ODIs.

Wow, South Africa have a lot. Their 2 best bowlers and currently most in form batsman have played less than 50 ODIs.
