iPhone Applications

I swear, i thought how good would it be if there couls be ashes cricket for iphone since a surge of stick cricket and cc came. I was browsibg the indian app store and i found ashes cricket mobile! Looks orthodox but certainly got on my back.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I am thinking to buy a phone. I was just checking apple - iphone site and came across finding this iphone Apple - iPhone 3GS - View the features of the iPhone 3GS.. Anyone here can suggest me if this is the right choice or not? I am complete noob at this stuff.

I just got that for Christmas. What it lacks in comparison to the newer iPhone 4 is a higher resolution screen, a 5MP camera and the ability to take 720p video. It also has a better processor and is thinner. But your apple experience will still be pretty good with the 3GS and it's much cheaper

Thanks for that tip, sohum. Will work on that.
Ironically, I'm now better at hitting spinners and medium pacers than pace bowlers. :p I'm stuck at the Sri Lanka challenge. The closest I got was 496 chasing a target of 508. :(

Anyone use an app to control the keyboard and mouse of your PC/laptop? I just got a 46" LCD HDTV and I have one of my old laptops (its a decent HP pavilion laptop) connected via VGA to my HDTV. I have put the laptop into my TV stand and dont want to take it out at all and want to control the laptop via iTouch. Which is the best app to do it? Heard decent things about Air Mouse. Any other ones that might be better?
I've used Air Mouse in the past and it's okay. Honestly, you'd be better off buying something like a Logitech DiNovo Edge (it is Bluetooth and has a mouse and keyboard on it apart from being extremely sleek and sexy). I got the Air Mouse app but the server has always been finicky. DiNovo Edge feels natural.

Unfortunately, the Edge does cost like $150 unless you wait for a good deal (I got mine for about $100 after scouting out SlickDeals).

Wow, even $100 is too costly for me. I already have a Logitech Cordless Desktop S 510 (with no receiver; I have to buy a replacement receiver to use that). I was just basically looking for an app on my iTouch to do this job because I dont want to have a big keyboard in my living room and I wanted to minimize the size of the items present in there. I have been trying Air Mouse so far, and its pretty decent. Tried something called Jumi Mouse+ (it had great ratings) but it was pathetic!)

I have one app like that.

BTW, you should check out Team viewer gem on iPhone. I have a feeling everybody around here did. :P

Oh woops, I thought you were referring to the mini, which IMO would be more practical for HTPC use...

It really isn't. The reason I went with a full-sized keyboard is so that I could actually type comfortably. The DiNovo is thin and light and has it's own docking station which makes it look like it belongs in the living room. IMO the DiNovo mini looks quite fugly.

The 3GS is fine. I hardly ever use the video camera on it and HD recording wouldn't make me want to use it more. I had a play around on my friends iPhone 4 and couldn't really see a huge speed increase. But I must say the high resolution screen on the 4 is gorgeous.

Also I find the 3GS feels a bit more solid than the iPhone 4. I've had mine for a year now and haven't bought a case or screen protector for it and it's fine. Of course it has the faint surface scratches from being put on a table etc but apart from that, it looks as though it's new.

Here are my current apps on my iPod Touch that I got for christmas.

Touch Cricket
Paper Toss
Flick Cricket
Unblock Me
Geared
Filght Control
Virtual Pool
And some volkwagen racing game which I can't remember the exact title.

What are some other good free apps?

Real Racing GTI is that racing one.

I can't remember which of mine are free ones and which aren't :/

No, it's just called Volkswagen Polo Challenge. I also have Waterslide, MarbleMash and eBuddy as well which I forgot to mention (forgot I had).

I'll have a look at that racing game though.

Looks really good but wow, it's big. 94mb for an app. Anyway, started installing it anyway and hope it's done sometime in the future.
