Im looking to get a new mobile but cannot decide between the two. Have any of you guys got any suggestions?

Totally different phones all together. What is your budget, what is your usage and what is you basic requirement?

I don’t have a budget. So I will spend anything that I think is reasonable. I use my blackberry from work with emails everyday but now a lot of people have told me the new iPhone can pass through emails like Blackberry. Also I heard on the iPhone there are much more applications to download and use?

iPhone 3G S. Buy it. I've got the 3G with the newest update, and it's so awesome. Best phone I've ever had. Stylish, quick OS, simple to use, thousands of quality apps to download, it's everything you could really need in a phone really, and the new 3G S has a better camera and some other shiz added on. I'll be tempted to upgrade to it soon.

But don?t you have to buy out the rest of your contract to upgrade to new iPhone. That?s what Vodafone are making its customers do in New Zealand

Don't think so. Pretty sure O2 said that anyone with a 3G could get an upgrade to the new one just so long as they take out a new 18 month contract.

I keep meaning to have a look at the iPhone but I don't use a phone enough to have it just now. Plus they keep upgrading it every two months or something.

oh ok. Whats the internet like on the iphone? Do you know if you get instant emails as you do on blackberrys?

They upgrade it every year. So that’s why mobile networks purposely make you take out 18 or 24 months contracts so when new iPhone comes out you would have to get another contract upgrade for it

Blackberry launched Iphone killer called Storm but I have used it and its nothing to rave about. They are coming up with Storm 2 (oden) which has WiFi support in addition to some face lifts.

If you ask me I will go for LG Viewty Smart GC900. It has 8 megapixel camera and is gifted multimedia device with its DivX and Xvid video support. It has support for Widgets as most new phones have. It has same browsing features as Iphone and supports WiFi as well.

Another phone worth mention here is Samsung Omnia HD. I dont know if its available in market as yet. But if price is not your constraint then you can go for this baby as it beats any competition from any phone. Even that no good N97.

I heard about the Samsung Omnia HD.

From my research Blackberry dominate the phone market and iPhone comes in 2nd. So I mostly likely will get one out of them two

Why waste your money on really nothing?

All you get is a bit better camera, quicker hardware (all games currently run on 3g), and a compass...

Its just a waste of money, there's nothing there which you can do to the iPhone through jailbreaking except the hardware. It'd be cheaper to buy an iPod touch which is almost the same.

Blackberrys annoy me, I don't like the keyboard layout.

I love the iPhone, i really do! Its ahead of every other phone, and will continue to be with the ability to get applications and buy music and videos (movies etc) directly to the phone without connecting it to a PC.

One question I really want to know about the iPhone is it does recieve instant emails like a blackberry? As I email all the time everyday. If not then I guess I have to get a blackberry!

It depends on whats your requirements. When I was working in bank I was required to be connected all time so blackberry did it for me. Thought Storm will be my phone for long time but it wasn't to be. It had so many flaws and most importantly lacked WiFi for me. Sold it at half the price in just 4 months of use. Should have bought Curve or Bold. Even Nokia E71 was better option than Storm.

Now I dont require blackberry anymore as now I am in IT field and my requirement is for capturing videos or photographs on go. Waiting for Samsung Pixon with 12 megapixel camera now.

Ok Ive now decided that I will be getting the iPhone 3Gs since having a device which has music and telephone, sms options is better than having a separate mp3 player with you at all times. However there are two concepts I will miss on the blackberry is push email and pin messaging. So if anyone has any ideas on any new Blackberry’s being released (other than the storm 2) please let know or otherwise I will get the iPhone

Not entirely sure what Push E-mail is, but I found this on Wiki:

Apple iPhone and iPod touch

Apple's iPhone and iPod touch supported Yahoo! push e-mail since the phone's initial release in 2007. The July 2008 release of iPhone OS software brings Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync platform to Apple's handheld which allows the iPhone to synchronize e-mail, calendars and contacts with a Microsoft Exchange Server, Zimbra or Kerio MailServer. The software update — which adds other features commonly found in enterprise mobile devices — is available through iTunes as a free download for the iPhone and as a paid upgrade for the iPod touch.

Additionally, at Apple's 2008 Worldwide Developers Conference, MobileMe was introduced as a subscription-based service that stores email, contacts, and calendars on a secure online server — or “cloud” — and pushes this information to various clients including the iPhone, iPod touch, and Mac.
