IPL - 1400 runs @ 33.33 (best 88*) striking at 186.42 (120 sixes) taking 55 wickets @ 27.96 with an economy of 8.88

First up is a giant gift in the form of the most dynamic T20 player of the current era, :wi::ar:Andre Russell. He had an excellent season for an all-rounder in 2018 but it was as a permanently half-crocked individual who it seemed was playing and bowling due to his captain that Russell truly shone, scoring 510 runs striking well above 200 with 52 sixes being the second most for a single season. He specialised in late finishes where he would take his side home even when it seemed like the game was truly lost. He hasn't bowled to his full potential owing to fitness issues but has still ended up in the double figures for wickets in his last four seasons. If you were given the first pick in a regular T20 draft, he would be the first pick nine out of ten times.

And he shall go to... @Akshay.

IPL - 5 wickets @ 10.80 (best 4/11) with an economy of 7.71 from seven overs

:pak::bwl:Shoaib Akhtar was brought in after his compatriot Gul leaked 43 runs versus Deccan Chargers and was an immediate success wreaking havoc on Delhi in the powerplay with four wickets. He retained his place for the trip to Mumbai where his team collapsed for 67 and Sanath took him to the cleaners in a short chase. Another game versus Chennai was hampered by DLS ruling the game in their favour after a dust storm and drizzle. Akhtar suffered an injury and that was the end of his solitary IPL campaign. There is no doubt that he would have been a feared prospect had he played in future matches.

And the winning bid has been submitted by.... @Na Maloom Afraad

IPL - 53 runs @ 10.60 striking at 103.92 (best 24) in 5 innings

Despite successes in other Asian T20 leagues, :saf::bat:Rilee Rossouw hasn't found himself in India since last playing for RCB as a replacement for Nic Maddinson in 2014 and for good reason too. While Rossouw has certainly improved as a batsman from then and he could have performed better in a more optimal team setup even back then (seriously, a top order bat as the finisher? Why RCB, just why?), Rossouw's current IPL record does mean that he will be an average buy at best for anyone.

Amidst all the chaos, the lucky one to have him will be... @Akshay. (certainly counterbalances the presence of Russell in your team to an extent).

@Bigby Wolf

Rejected by None

IPL - 170 wickets @ 19.85 (best 5/13) with an economy of 7.16

Another fine gift from @Bigby Wolf, :sri::bwl:Lasith Malinga is the most successful wicket-taker in IPL history. A death bowler extraordinaire, Malinga has played exclusively as a Mumbai player for a decade and has been an instrumental figure in their rise to the top of the league. You might be forgiven for believing that he was done but Malinga bowled the last over of 2019 IPL and helped Mumbai win by one run, defending just nine runs. Another one who will be the one of the first to go in any regular T20 draft.

And the winning bid belongs to.... @Nilay_60 (he must be over the moon seeing that he's a MI fan himself).

@VC the slogger

IPL - 1280 runs @ 33.68 (best 93*) striking at 140.66 (63 sixes)

I have always though :aus::bat:Chris Lynn to be a bit underrated by KKR fans in particular due to the sheer expectations placed on him to be as good as the top overseas batsmen in the league (the massive salary certainly didn't help). Yet he has been the best of the rest and scored close to 900 runs combined over the last two seasons. While the aggression from him has been lacking in comparison to his usual standards, he certainly was not helped by a Kolkata surface that isn't entirely suited to his style and the Wankhede might be a better home for him in the future (imagine Rohit and him smashing sixes out of the ground!).

And the hard hitting Aussie will be taken by... @Bigby Wolf (maybe karma is real?)

IPL - :lol

Ooof. This might very well be the worst player of the auction due to the rules. While he was a decent defensive spinner for his country, :zim::bwl:Ray Price was bought as a replacement for the injured Henriques in 2011 by Mumbai. He proceeded to play the last game of the group stage for his franchise as a specialist fielder down at ten and did not bowl a single ball and certainly did not bat after a late game finish by Franklin and Rayudu. Price never played a single game in the IPL after that.

I wouldn't want to wish him anyone but one of us will be extremely unlucky and be forced to carry him and that shall be.. @VC the slogger (seriously, I don't envy you at all).

IPL - 1107 runs @ 36.90 (best 93) striking at 137.52 (44 sixes)

One of my favourite overseas players was :aus::bat:Matthew Hayden who was absolutely majestic in his first two seasons for Chennai averaging more than 50 with a strike-rate in the 140s. A poor third season (I personally blame the abomination that was the mongoose bat) might have brought his numbers down and a nearly match-losing performance in the final threatened his legacy but when it was all over, Hayden was deservedly rated as one of the best overseas players in the early iterations.

And he shall go to... @Na Maloom Afraad (looks like your opening combination has been set in stone).

IPL - 25 wickets @ 43.80 (best 3/15) at an economy of 7.51

:aus::bwl:Brett Lee's record in the IPL surprised me to be honest especially when he was such a key figure in his domestic team's success in the CLT20. He wasn't really a noteworthy wicket-taker and failed to get into double figures in any single season. The two seasons where he played the most number of games? They were easily his worst. The wondrous yorker to dismiss U-19 champion Chand on his first delivery may have been an outlier rather than the norm. At least, he was a decent economical pacer at times who might not be the best option on unfriendly pitches.

And he will represent the team of... @CerealKiller

Looking at kind of players others have chosen, it seems I have done lot of mischief

I like Rossouw but his ipl record is bad
Russell is a great player to have

Nathan%2BRimmington.jpg

Nominated by
@Aislabie and @Na Maloom Afraad

Rejected by None

IPL - 0/19 from three overs in one game

An Aussie who currently plays for Durham as a local, :aus::bwl:Nathan Rimmington specializes in the shorter formats of the game and is just one victim among many of Punjab's odd fascination with relatively less known pacers as a backup. His solitary game came in 2011 IPL in the opening game where he bowled tidily versus a weak Pune side. He was promptly replaced by Ryan Harris and was ruled out of the 2012 season with an injury. That ended his involvement with the IPL.

And he shall be playing for... @Bevab
