All-Time IPL Draft

ISHAN KISHAN

Bit of a premature pick, but I really needed a left handed batsman in my team, and among all the Indians left, Ishan Kishan is probably the best among them. While he was sort of an under-utilized entity in the Gujarat Lions team, his Mumbai Indians stint has surely made him one of the better domestic and uncapped batsmen, and add to that the fact that he is a wicket keeper, he slots right into my team, relieving Rahul off the keeping duties.

FRANK ‘typhoon’ TYSON

Imagine the fastest ball you’ve ever seen... Now think it to be much more faster, from a shorter runup, that would be Tyson. Frank Tyson will be the last of my tear-away quicks as he’ll frighten the hell out of batsmen with a barrage of bouncers and yorkers. Also, with him being my 7th bowling option, we might not need Andre Russell bowling (just to keep his knees safe)

This completes my lineup. Rahul and Sachin (or Sachin and Sehwag) will open, while Sachin being the anchor, while Rahul or Sehwag tee off. If a wicket falls anywhere before the 12th over, the lineup stays same, while after the 12th, Russell is the first to come after any wicket.

As far as the bowling department is concerned, I always believe a team must have as many bowling options as possible, and thus my team has 7. Deepak Chahar will open the bowling, trying to take maximum wickets first up. If swing isn’t present, he goes out of the attack, getting Tyson and Procter in. Sinclair will come in between not to give any relief to the batters. Russell may come in for an over or two (if absolutely necessary). And when the pacers get their rest, Nadkarni and Prasanna will not allow any batsman any freebies and thus will decrease the scoring rate as possible.

:ind: :bat: Mohammad Kaif

Twenty20 stats: 1,237 runs @ 21.70 (SR: 102.99, best 70) and 42 catches in 75 matches

Mohammad Kaif could bat, but I've not picked him for his batting. We've already got eight batsmen who can play big shots, though if we need to stem a collapse then Kaif could get that promotion up the order. Mohammad Kaif could bowl a little bit, although never in a Twenty20 match; we've already got six front-line bowlers plus emergency options in Gayle and Srikkanth. Mohammad Kaif is in the side for his fielding - one of India's two greatest fielders of all time alongside Ravindra Jadeja, he's got to be in all the most important positions at the most important times, making sure our bowlers get the support they deserve.

@mohsin7827

Would have been gone for extra batsman,bolwer or All-rounder for both but I am going for specialist wicket keeper which can be useful in format not more in T20s perhaps
Syed Kirmani
images (11).jpeg

He will bat at no. 8 in the team releaving Pant from keeping burden(blunders).

1. :aus: :ar: S Watson:os:
2. :ind: :bat: N Sidhu :slvo:
3. :ind: :bat: V Merchant :slvo:
4. :wi: :ar: Viv Richards:os::slvo:
5. :pak: :ar: Imran Khan:os::slvo:
6. :ind: :bat: Rishabh Pant
7. :ind: :ar: Ravindra Jadeja
8. :ind: :wkb: Syed Kirmani :slvo:
9. :afg: :bwl: Rashid Khan :os:
10. :ind: :bwl: Zaheer Khan
11. :ind::bwl: Jusprit Bumrah

Watson and Sidhu will open the innings both are capable of providing solid start. Merchant , Richards , Imran will stablize the middle orders , Jadeja and Pant will provide the finishing touch to the innings
Rashid will also partner them if needed.
Bumrah and Zaheer will share the new ball and old with Rashid and Jadeja to put pressure on opponents in middle.
5th bowler duties will be share by Watson,Imran and Viv.

@NePtuNe Gaming

Dattu Phadkar will be my final pick. Phadkar was a very capable batsman, averaging 36 in FC cricket and 32 in test cricket. He was a brutal batsman and averaged 43 against australia which is ridiculous for a player batting 8 in his era. With the ball he will be very effective in the powerplay, with his ability to swing the ball and performances like a 7fer against the West Indies support this claim.

This completes my team, and I am very happy with it. Most of the roles are covered with 7 genuine bowling options and power hitting till 8, the all rounders of this team have added a lot of balance.
