IPL IPL Player Auction 2011

I can't really believe Irfan got a million, I know they need the indian players, but I can't even remember him doing good at all for punjab. His batting was ok, but his bowling could get taking apart.

True that, I never thought of that actually.

I wonder who will be the Miami Heat of the IPL. I reckon RCB, they got Vettori quite cheap and their other players are brilliant. Kochi are in a good position too.

Miami Heat is certainly Mumbai.

Yeah he is flinging useless for any side in t20s . Delhi have absolutely lost their nuts signing him

Well McCullum has been pretty horrible in IPL matches since his debut, so I think what he got was pretty fair.
True, some absolute stars but the rest of the roster will probably be weak.

I think he got a decent amount too, if he keeps as well then Kochi would've got a real bargain.

I'm really only following this for the Kiwi players. Ryder, Styris and Mills are probably the only others who will get contracts.

New Channel here says that Ganguly has already been offered Mentor role for KKR if he goes unsold.

RCB this time have got flare line up as compared to dad's army last time around.

----------

Mumbai now just need a opening bowler and opening batsman to partner Sachin.

:lol Symonds/Bhajji in same team with Tendulkar as captain ... only if Ricky Ponting had made it into the team.
The guy retired frm national team bcoz he didn't feel the environment in dressing room was right. Bhajji beter behave himself.

Rajasthan, Deccan (All overseas), Punjab and Bangalore have more overseas players than Indian players, so they all will be trying to get Indian players in the next session of auction. Even Mumbai Indians have the same amount of overseas and Indian players.

In Kolkata, rumours are rife that Kochi and Sahara will battle it out with each other to get Sourav.

KKR might join the bidding initially, but if the price reaches astronomical amounts, they'll probably give up as Ganguly ain't their priority any longer.

It will be pretty disappointing for Bengalis though. Any Kolkata based team without Ganguly is like Manchester United without Rooney.

Till now, I think

Best Pick: Dan Vettori for $550k
Worst Pick: Robin for a whopping $2.1mn

in terms of the value they have been bidded and quality of the player.

Same here.

Other possibilities are Oram, Guptill, and Nathan McCullum.

There's a good chance Oram will retire from international cricket after the World Cup, so he could be quite a good buy, since possibility is all he'll do then is play T20 cricket.

Nathan's way underrated, he'll probably be better than a few of the later international players getting contracts. His T20I stats are very good reading as well.

Very unlikely, but maybe Vincent as well.
