Is Shivnarine Chanderpaul selfish?

Every batsman has a chance to improve their records in Australia the next time they tour. Doesn't make them a greater player anymore because there's no Warne or McGrath there anymore.

ahahah so we are to judge a great on how many times they played Warne and McGrath. Or are we to judge them on how well they did over their career against many different bowlers. I would take the 2nd one.
Yea Shiv did struggle in Australia but Australia is a hard place to play regardless and he has a chance to improve if he tours in 2010.
Some stuff you say is really mind boggling to say the least.

Ricky Ponting isn't a great he has one century against the WI when Ambrose and Walsh were playing and after that he just bullied the part timers.

You judge the best players on how they do against the best opposition. By your theory, a batsman could average 80 against Bangladesh, 70 against Zimbabwe, 75 against New Zealand and then average 20 against Australia & South Africa and still be called the best.

Chanderpaul's never scored a 100 against Warney, Murali or Shoaib but Pietersen has scored 100's against all of them.

Why is some stuff I say mind boggling? Because it makes sense? Because you're a fanboy and you know you've been proven wrong? That is a response of a defeated man.

No actually that is the theory you use when it suits you the best. As I said I judge a guy on the way he performed over his entire 15 year career not how he does against 2 bowlers out of the dozens he faced in his lifetime.

Chanderpaul's never scored a 100 against Warney, Murali or Shoaib but Pietersen has scored 100's against all of them.

And its Shivs fault that Shoaib wasn't available for his teams selection when he played Pakistan in a tour or 2? He does the best against what he comes up against and as it turns out since his surgery his record has jumped up a great deal.

No actually it is mind boggling because it doesn't make any sense allot of the time. Calling me a fanboy Mr.Hayden?? Nowhere have I been proven wrong by you, the chances of that happening are as big as Indians calling Hayden God of cricket.

Wow you now your math, :clap give yourself a tap on the back.

If we are judging batsman on their performances against 2 bowler a whole lot of the good batsman wouldn't be called good anymore.

Pietersen averaged 50+ whilst Chanderpaul averaged only 30.

If you call Hayden like as you said below, i.e average of 35 isn't a struggle and Hayden as a great,

He didn't struggle against the West Indies. Averaging 35 isn't struggling. He would've gotten a permanant spot in the Australian side had Mark Taylor not been captain. You obviously haven't watched Sheffield Sheild cricket where Hayden used to tear apart Warne & McGrath during the 1990s.

Then definitely I see the average of 30 also as not struggling. Chanderpaul is still great.

Avg(30) vs the team with McGrath,Lee& Warne is definitely better/greater than Avg(35) vs the most Collapsing team,WI

Their is a difference. Averaging 35 from 3 games isn't anywhere near as bad as averaging 31 from 9 games.

The West Indies had Lara, Walsh, Ambrose, etc in their team for the majority of the matches that Chanderpaul played against Australia when both Warne & McGrath were playing. I'd hardly call that a collasping team.

Dan,TOm aur Ben ko eek Naya Gadha milne wala hai :)

Cheers and Shiv is not Selfish but who knows about Hayden :/

Jokes on you guys now because it's past 12pm in my area of the world. The funniest thing is that in 33 minutes, the youngest member who targetted me in foreign language is going to turn into a rooster! He will then be immediately transported from his computer desk to the outskirts of Spain where several Spanish kids will be surrounding him whilst eating taquitos.
