Is this game worth buying at the moment?

I posted this on Steam several days ago and didn't get many replies, so I'm posting it here again (my first post). So I'm interested in cricket, played quite a bit when I was a kid, but I'm wondering if this game is worth buying at the moment. I wouldn't have hesitated if it was $20 or $30 but looking at the reviews and some discussions here, it seems like there are too many bugs and other problems for a $50 game.

So, should I get the game atm or wait for them to patch it? Also, will this game ever go on sale like for $30?

BTW, I have never played DBC 14.

If you're a cricket gaming fan it's a must buy, especially since you didn't play DBC 14.

definitely worth it

its my first cricket game since Ashes 09, and even with the bugs. Knowing the developers roam these forums and provide answers is great and regular patches is promising as well.

i have played some great test matches so far

Definitely worth it yes problems but what game hasnt with some tweaking of settings reallocate is a fun game. Not a arcade game were you will make 50 from 20 balls all the time but thats the challenge. If you are looking for perfection look elsewhere if you are Looking for a fun challenging cricket game with lots of layers definitely get it.. there is a learning curve but this community has been awesome to help me wrap my head around it

I'm not sure it's a must buy. Something as basic as not being able to correctly set fields when bowling is borderline game breaking in this instance.

If you're asking about steam sales I don't think either RLL3 or DBC 14 have ever gone on sale.

If you have not played DBC14 then DBC17 ranks as a must buy. There are still a few glitches (which will surely get fixed) but nothing that seriously hinders offline enjoyment. (I don't play online so cannot comment on that experience.)

If you had DBC14 on PC then you could get away with Franco's mod for it whilst they finish patching up DBC17.

Yes should buy it if u are cricket fan has some issues but it's a great game

best cricket game and it will only get better more patches
SO A BIG YES

Yes, it's got it's issues sure, you don't have to dig too deep here to find them but this game has (will have) some serious depth about it.

If you appreciate the nuances of cricket then there's some serious longevity to be had with it but If you're mainly into hit and giggle cricket then I'm sorry to tell you there are no cheerleaders.

The decision is yours.

I didn't play DBC 14 at all but love this game. As Karol pointed out, if you like to enjoy a cricket game with serious depth and longevity, its definitely worth the investment. But if you want to bang bang bye bye., I am not sure how easy is this game with the batting difficulty set to easiest.

Thanks for the replies. It seems like all of you are recommending it. Since I haven't played DBC 14 before, how does the developer support the game after it's released. Do they (and will?) keep releasing patches to fix bugs and improve other things as time goes by? I'm asking this since some of you are saying that it will get even better with time with patches. How (or how long) did they support DBC 14?

Yes the developers (Big Ant) back their product and provide patches. If you're looking at the PC version it's even better as patches don't have to wait for platform holders (MS/Sony) and you get updates quickly.
