Italian Football Thread

Now we know for sure as to who's winning the Euros. Remember Calciopoli 2006? ;)

Haha yep, it could be strong de ja vu again.

Would love Italy to win as they are my second favourite team.

I think they might struggle to get out of that group, with the amount of injuries that are building up in their squad.

I think you'll find that excuses are only applied to England on this forum :p

It was a strange and silly signing at the time, when Inter needed to revitalise their aging defence.

They've really made some stupid and wasteful signing over the past few seasons, which could cost them with regards to FFP.

Conte and Pepe banned for 3 months, while Bonucci's case is pretty awful - COULD face a 3 year ban IF found guilty. Such a good defender, feel extremely sorry for him. :/

Hmm, i haven't seen this mentioned anywhere though.

Well it's all over on my twitter timeline. Follow 'juventino (@Juventus_FC_fan)' if you possess a twitter account. Has all the info regarding this. Funnily enough, all three have been summoned for being involved in a scandal during their non-Juventus days (Conte - Siena, Bonucci - Bari, Pepe - Udinese).

Elsewhere, Roma have made some brilliant signings following their sale of Fabio Borini - Michael Bradley (3.5m euros), Destro (11.5m euros) and Federico Balzaretti (4.5m euros). The last one, a pretty impressive capture in special. Also finalizing a loan move today would be Ivan Piris, who plies his trade in Brazil. Top 3 finish for Roma, me thinks.

Edit: Apologies, those are the charges only IF found guilty. Nothing imposed on anyone yet.

I see De Rossi has called a big press conference 2moro to speak on his future. Very big this since we all know that City want him.

Would be glad if he stays. That said, the very thought of Yaya Toure and De Rossi starting for City at the same time at central midfield gives me the butterflies! Not to forget he's a more than capable makeshift CB too. Genuine Champions League contenders if he does arrive, Man City.
