Italian Football Thread

Hoping that Montolivo and Traore are just the beginnings of some big signings.

Chiellini looked a worried man yesterday (was in tears), after limping off injured on 86 mins. Hope it's nothing serious, though news is that he'll definitely miss the Coppa Italia final next week against Napoli. We're kerplucked without him in the Euros!

Juventus lose their first match of the season, harshly in the last and cup final. Great goal from Hamsik but ADP, a legend who will be celebrated regardless of how this match went today.

Nah, wasn't harsh at all. Napoli were the better team throughout, barring the 10 minute period they sat back after Cavani's penalty.

If Juve bring in a top-class striker, they'll have a quality side.

The goal against Inter stands out for me. World class player.

Fantastic news. I've only ever seen a handful of matches of his Lecce side and other bits and bobs. Would be great to finally see a Zeman team properly.

Pirlo has 2,778 completed passes. Xavi has 2,688.

People say Pirlo is good, but not as good as Xavi. Dosen't this prove he is bloody underrated outside of italy? This just shows who should be coming in 3rd place for Ball D'Or.

Xavi played lesser matches than Pirlo, right? (Assuming that's not average.)

True, he did play atleast four or five games more, but still, it does say something.

Yes, Pirlo is underrated outside Italy, but still himself and Xavi are not nearly the same.

Also I guess Xavi would've been subbed off more times than Pirlo, but I could be well wrong, for Juventus have a talented midfield.

If Xavi is seriously rated as 3rd in the world, Pirlo should easily be close as well. Right now people really just call him a great buy, but never really call him one of the best in the world.
