Italian Football Thread

I wouldn't go that far (title contenders), but defo look a formidable unit following Cassano and Rossi's return:

-------------------------Buffon-------------------------

Maggio--------Bonnucci------------Chiellini------ De Ceglie

---------Nocerino----------Pirlo------------De Rossi

-------------------------Montolivo----------------------

-----------Cassano-----------------------Rossi--------------------

Bench: Viviani, Abate, Criscito, Marchisio, Aquilani, Di Natale, Balotelli

Highly doubt Antonini will make the bench. Balzaretti and Cristico have been two competing left-backs.

Viviano, Sirgu and De Sanctis will be in a interesting battle for two keeper spots in the final EURO 23 squad, good keeper depth Italy have their.

I completely forgot Paolo De Ceglie at LB. He's been in incredible form as well since new year! The way I see it, it'll be a 3 horse race between PDC, Criscito and Balzaretti for the LB position.

Or an alternative option would be to employ Chiellini as our LB and have Bonucci and Barzagli at CB. Options, options..

Yeah awful news really. Even worse that he was only 25 years old. RIP Morosini.
All Serie A matches this weekend have thereby been postponed.

Terrible. Turning All that trouble of saving the club from relegation into breaking it apart in a few seconds. I don't think the player's much of a share to blame in this but still dissing your own coach at 2-0 would upset the matters but the boss is to blame really.

Delio Rossi sacked after attacking Fiorentina star Adem Ljajic | Mail Online

Ljajic was linked to AC Milan and Juventus all this season so it wouldn't be a surprise if he opts out a move from the club.

That was pathetic. A 51 year-old man punching a 20 year-old kid isn't right, under any circumstances. Rightfully sacked.

Got to say Santon's performance yesterday cannot be overlooked by Prandelli. Was simply sensational barring that solitary mispass. Further heats up the race for Italy's LB slot - Criscito, Balzaretti, De Ceglie, Santon, etc.

Messi yesterday stole the limelight from Totti, who played his 500th league game for Roma yesterday. Extraordinary talent - proud to have watched him at his prime.

Kudos to Conte's Juventus on winning the Serie A. Thoroughly deserved it, having gone unbeaten all season long.

Without doubt the most talented cheat and most disgusting footballer in Italy for my entire lifespan. Not to mention his immense ability to fail in any big game or let down his entire team because he's such a selfish ......... (use whatever word you feel best describes him). Vile human being on the pitch and I will consider football an ever so slightly better place once he retires.
