Italian Football Thread

Oh word. Well based on what i've seen of the likes of Abate, Maggio and Balzaretti for their clubs, i reckon they could handle the wing-back role for the azzuri to be honest.

Since in a way, in the current 4-3-1-2, they do operate like wing-backs. No wingers in front of them and essentially they are the main source for of with from Prandelli's side.

Fergie will regret the day he played Rafael and Park in central midfield ahead of Pogba.

Definitely. Pogba would've been a better option than the old, old Giggs.

El Shaarawy is just brilliant at the moment. Can't see him at Milan for long if he continues his brilliant run.

El Shaarawy and Erik Lamela (AS Roma) at the moment are absolutely ripping their respective oppositions to shreds. If only Lamela too was Italian (as SES) damn...

why?

milan can afford to keep him and would only sell if a mega million move comes along (30-40m or above). they're not quite in the leagues of mid table teams yet and I don't see anyone coughing up that amount of money for him.

milan have the makings of good team, they just need to be smart in the transfer market and stop buying fading brazilians. (although if kaka came back for cheap I wouldn't complain)

I think someone like Nuri Sahin would have been a perfect fit at Milan. When Allegri played the 3-5-2 against Palermo, it looked more like a 5-3-2 tbh - such a defence minded side that they'd give the 2004 Euros' Greek side a real run for their money!

The problem is Milan's finances are a bit of a mess, hence they jumped at the opportunity to offload Silva and Ibra for big bucks this summer.

Exactly. With the kind of form Milan have ATM, their chances of making Europa League are quite tough too. Just a loss separates them from a relegation spot. Although relegation is a far fetched proposition, I'd say that the Europa League has to be the best thing they can aim for.

First time I watch Juve in years and they lose, good football though. ;)

Ye very impressive unbeaten streak by Juve has now been ended.

Its lovely to watch how many of the top sides in Italy over the past 2 season are now playing with the 3 defenders formations.

I'm lost for words to praise Stephan El Shaarawy... Another monster outing yesterday!! Emanuelson and Montolivo continuing their good run of form as well.
