I've finally got it! BUT... (PC version)

I agree. You set up a thrilling test match thats sounds like its being played in Siberia with a few bemused groundstaff wondering what they are suppossed to be doing. Why o why they couldnt have the option of even though you might not want the crowd visually you could still hear it. And its great when dear old Aggers says at the start of the match "The grounds filling up nicely now, I don't see too many empty seats" and theres only one poor bloke in a orange bib thinking " wth, where is everybody. Oh darn it's one of these Wednesday starts and everyone thinks it starts on bleeding Thursday."

Great stuff mate!

But seriously, it really isn't much better with the crowd - they're hopeless! It sounds nothing like a pumped up Ashes crowd, it sounds like a match at a half empty stadium in a meaningless game in the West Indies or somewhere! I mean, did you hear the cheer when Trott got his century today? That's the sort of noise you expect at a football ground! In this game, you can hardly hear the cheers when wickets/boundaries happen. The sound in this game is pretty woeful and sound is very important when it comes to building a good atmosphere.

I haven't tried it at other stadiums, but I'll be more than slightly annoyed if the atmosphere is better at them than in the Ashes series, since the game is called Ashes Cricket 2009.

Good and valid points.
And the ambience noise loops too quickly. If you listen carefully in Twenty20 mode there is this lady hiccupping about every 2 minutes or so....have a listen....am I the only one hearing this? Am I the only sad one who actually stopped the game he was playing to investigate whether it was actually a hiccup???? If this is suppossed to be a hiccup then I am dissapointed in the quality of hiccup. I think the hiccup is wrong.
Its not got enough echo in it and the bounce is all wrong!
I would have expected a game of this quality to also include farting, burping, belching, vomitting. C,mon Codies...patch this pronto! Maybe Colin can help!:D

Dude without crowd the game may run smooth, but its like we playin with our friends on a waste land :noway

There was talk about Hitterman (I think not entirely sure) creating a patch so that while the crowds are off, the ambient sounds still play. But I can live without it, it sucks anyway. I'm at Lords not a Friday night playing Indoor Cricket.
