Jan 3-7: 5th Test: Australia v England at Sydney

Maybe Beer can come out and do a Khawaja and make a quick 30 odd and take this total up to 300 :p:rolleyes Hilfenhaus to make a half century as well :lol

That would be nice. Probably mean that the pitch has flattened out.

Does anyone know Hilfenhaus second highest Test score is?

Hilfy now pulling out the slog sweep. Impressive stuff!

He has just reached his second highest test score.. he's second highest before today was 20 against India back in October. And his highest test score is 56 not out.

Thanks mate, I knew his highest score. How could I forget his maiden 50 and at Lords to boot! Glad to see he's gotten to his second highest.

Now question is, can he reach his highest test score and surpass that? He is certainly looking that way, if he doesn't play anything too stupid.

I think that might be a little out of reach. I wouldn't mind being wrong though.

Anderson gets a bit of a freebie there. At least Beer's first innings is a not out.

I reckon we could of had batted for a lot longer if Hilfy played normal.

I'm interested to see how Clarke uses Beer in this innings. Obviously the three quicks will get the ball first but will Watson get the ball before Beer? I think so considering there is still a bit of grass on this wicket.

That is true, when Johnson was out at the crease, Hilfenhaus had the freedom to play his shots and that's why he made much of his runs. When Johnson went out and Beer came to the crease, Hilfenhaus needed to take the senior role, and needed to settle down and bat responsible. But he continued on with this "big hitting" which lost his wicket.

Your probably right. But he did face 58 balls, probably lost concentration.

Johnson's swinging the ball but Cook just hit him for four. Too short there.

EDIT: Not exactly the start Australia would have wanted. We need a wicket here, because we are conceding runs far too easily.

EDIT 2: Clarke wouldn't of wanted to go to Watson this early.

Good fight back from Australia. 2 quick wickets, from Hilfenhaus and Johnson. Game on now

Took them long enough to find the right length, no idea why they keep dropping short all the time.

Time for some Beer :D

England need to be at least 4 down by stumps, preferably with Cook and Pietersen out.

LOL, that's hilarious.

He's a spinner and he bowled a no-ball, it's criminal really. He's got himself to blame.

You'd feel bad for him if he never took another Test wicket.

EDIT: I bet Beer is feeling pretty flat after that :D

Am a fan of Beer, nice flight, drift, drop, bounce and spin.
Falls over a bit to the side but not as bad as Dawson did, I think he'll be a good bowler.
