INTERNATIONAL Cricket Council chairman Ray Mali will seek a meeting with John Buchanan to discuss the former Australian coach's radical plan to allow a greater movement of players between countries.
Buchanan's comments yesterday followed suggestions from several international coaches that the Australian team's stranglehold on world cricket — Ricky Ponting's men have not lost a Test since the 2005 Ashes series, and have won three consecutive World Cups — was hurting the game.

Speaking to The Age from Argentina yesterday, Mali said he was open to the idea of allowing for a more equal distribution of cricketing talent around the globe, and would seek an audience with Buchanan in January to examine the concept.
"I have always believed that cricket, as a global game, cannot remain static," Mali said.
