I am sorry but the concept of Twenty20 was started by the ECB. All the BCCI did (and that too only after the ICL started) was mix it with money, film actors and a whole lot of corrupton, besides screwing up with cricket as a sport.
I am sure that the ECB sold (or should've sold rights) for Twenty20 after coming up with it. There's no other reason I can see that it continues to be called "Twenty20". Where is the corruption in the IPL? Or are you just throwing around propaganda?
There was no passion in the IPL. None. Whatever little was shown was bought and not actual. Did anyone see Ed Joyce in the final of the Twenty20 Cup? Thats how you feel when you play for your own team.
I fail to see why you discredit any passion just because of the high salaries. Is Ed Joyce playing cricket for no salary these days? Absolute bullshit, is what I think. Only a few players here and there played for teams that weren't in their general region. There are also plenty of internationals in the English Twenty20 league. Are you going to go around singling them out for not having "real" passion?

The BCCI can bugger off for all I care. Since when have they controlled the world and can tell everyone what to do? They don't control this tournament. Far out...
They actually do control the Champions Trophy, which is why they get the right to decide who can participate and who cannot. It is sad that the policies they adopted about the ICL are so primitive, but all the other boards in the world had a chance to stand up against them. Wasn't it New Zealand who played with the future of Shane Bond and lost him?
If you rile up the support of the FICA and 3 or 4 boards you
can stand up to the BCCI. Hell, even if South Africa and Australia boycott India, I can assure you that after a couple of seasons, we will be bored of playing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. All the other boards are as much at blame as falling meekly as the BCCI is for taking a high-and-might attitude against the ICL.

Spot on! The passion comes from the local boys playing for their county in the final not from "world class" sellouts from all over the world. This is totally out of order from the BCCI. ECB don't need them. Hopefully the ECB will just stop for a second and realize all this Twenty20 nonsense has gotten totally out of hand. They need to put a stop to it and stand up to the BCCI.
We don't have counties in India. So your argument holds no merit with regards to the IPL. The BCCI have long since had their arguments against the ICL agreed in the ICC. I would be happy if someone stood up and forced them to recognize the ICL and promised dire circumstances in the case that they did not comply (such as boycotts). Unfortunately it seems like the players in all other countries like the green as well.

Threats from the ECB and CA to start their own Cricket Council is the way to go I think. It would force immediate action because no matter how much the ICC love the subcontinent, you can bet that they won't jump at having a competition with no one but the subcontinent and Zimbabwe.
Behavior from Australia does not seem to suggest anything of the sort, though. After all, it was the Australian and Indian cricket boards that came up with the IPL, which was a tournament in reaction to the ICL.

England are going to have their own T20 Champions League in Sharjah in October. They invited the BCCI but they said no.
As I said in the other threads, the ECB were really kidding themselves if they expected anything except a rejection from the BCCI. It would take the most naive of people (which is unfortunately the majority of the population of the world) to think that the BCCI are at fault for not wanting to enter into a "copy-cat" Champions League after a tussle with that organizing board.
