i must say, when i first saw them with those very "matching" red pyjamas and green shorts, Kenya looked like they'd take a pasting from almost every team in this world cup. they had 4 gifted points from the kiwis, but then showed everyone they can hold their own by seeing off both Sri Lanka and the now legendary bangladesh team (32 ODI's without a win now i think)...so they then qualified for the super sixes...so all the pundits brushed them off as a fluke and "lucky"..now their in the semi's thanks to some great work in the field against Zimbabwe. having seen two of their games i'm convinced they should be playing test cricket...they don't have any stars, they all work hard for each other, are very enthusiastic and do the basics very well and play to their strengths...what does everyone think?

Hats off to them for their performances in this World Cup. I thought they'd take a pasting in the super sixes, but they've pushed India hard and now beaten Zimbabwe. A great effort.
Test cricket? In my opinion that's a different kettle of fish. That's REAL cricket. Have they the strength in depth to compete over 5 days, (or should that be 3 days as in Bangladesh's case)?
IMO, the trouble is in Test cricket there's 4 groups.
1. Australia (still ahead of the rest by far).
2. India, Pak, Eng, SL, Windies,SA, NZ (all capable of beating eachother on their day).
3.Zimbabwe (capable of the odd win against the rest, but rarely).
4.Bangladesh (piss poor).
I'd put Kenya in the same group as Bangladesh; maybe just above. If Bangladesh have test match status, then why not Kenya, although I think they'd struggle in Test match cricket to put up challenging performances, as Bangladesh are finding out at the moment.

I'll never forget one particular moment I saw in the Kenya v Bangladesh match..bangla batsman played a shot..ball went to a fielder in the outfield..batsmen went for their run..and next thing I see is about 10 of those red-green uniforms you like so much sonic, were covering the stumps for any overthrow - 4/5 at each end :but///: ..now that's commitment!!

:h: :h: Hilarious but true!

too bad I couldn't watch more of it since India-Pak match was on at the same time..

yeah I think Kenya should given a test status where I am sure they can much improve the game just like how Sri Lanka did in early 90's...
