Jesse Ryder, the New Zealand opener, is expected to be out for action or three months after injuring his right hand following a window-breaking incident at the Christchurch Stock Exchange bar.

Ryder's injury occurred at 5:30am, the morning after New Zealand's series win against England when he was trying to gain access to a toilet area that had been accidentally locked. He was scheduled to be operated on in Christchurch Hospital this afternoon.

Yeah, i'm quite disappointed. As i'm sure a lot of fans and team staff are. I thought he was passed all this crap. Hopefully he learns his lesson. Sounds pretty nasty.

Sigh.

Let's hope Lou Vincent isn't joining the ICL. Otherwise we're in big trouble for the tour to England. Ryder might join in time with some luck for the ODIs, since the tests are first.

From what I was hearing on Sky Sports yesterday, it appeared Ryder wasn't in contention for a Test Spot anyway as the favourite's were Sinclair, How and someone else whose name I have briefly forgotten. Still expect he is massively gutted though. He must have been pretty drunk.

I read the article a few times, but didn't quite understand what happened, and how? =P

I'm sure I wasn't the only one expecting a joke about him breaking into a cake shop.

As an England fan, it's good news for the rest of the tour, but I hope he gets better soon.

I thought Ryder is only aggressive during his batting but no he is real angry man..I like him..
