Justin Langer has just scored 300 for SOmerset against Surrey

Langer batted for all of the first day's play and was 283 at stumps.

He is now 303 off 366. Thatr's a strike rate of 82.7. Excellent work there alfie

Good effort that by Langer.Hopefully that would put him back as the prime candidate in the Ashes ahead of people like Jaques who've also been doing well lately.

I don't think that langer was ever out of contention.

He took a nasty bump in South Africa and had to go home but from this recent effort, he is clearly in fine form.

The strike rate really impressive. He nearly made that 300 in a day of play. That's DOn Bradman type stuff

I never meant that he was out of contention,but Jaques was starting to look as if he might get the spot atleast to start with especially after his brilliant double in the Top End Series.Now that Langer has got this he's back as prime candidate.If only we had such competition for the opening spot here.

Terrific innings from Langer; That strike rate makes the innings even better. The fact that Australia are even considering playing another opener instead of him is just stupid.
