That would be a very interesting theme, but I was thinking something more along the lines of Season IV where you had managers pick pretty much anybody they wanted along with the odd associate or two in their teams. It would also be a lot easier to put into action than an associates only tournament, for which a lot of research would be required on my part even with your help because I usually like going through several CA/cricinfo scorecards at once to get info on their bat positions, playing styles, top performances etc.

I think I'm a far better league manager than I was when I ran that Season IV theme and pretty much botched it with my then somewhat noobish player ratings. I feel could do a much better job with it now given everything I've learned since then about the players and how to rate them realistically on the Test sim.

I'm a little busy at the moment to be running a 32-team league (which I will attempt to finish later), but I reckon I've still got it in me to do a short 4 to 6 team (if I'm that lucky) tournament involving legends.

Over the last 10 seasons of this league, we've had Test legends taking on fellow Test legends in the 5-day format, and even the one-off season where we had ODI legends taking on fellow ODI legends in the 50-over format. But what we've never had before is Test legends taking on Test legends in the ODI format, a theme I believe this league is long due for after having run so many seasons of Cricket at the Olympics in the eras where 50-over cricket was but a distant fantasy. That essentially will be the theme for this, the proposed 11th season of Legends At Battle - the best players to never play ODI cricket.

As the theme name suggests, the season will be in the 50-over format and players that haven't played a single ODI game throughout their careers will be valid for selection. Okay, for the sake of certain players who played a handful of ODIs in the 1970s towards the twilight of their careers, I'll allow each team a maximum of 2 players who have played 10 ODIs or fewer in their squads. Players that have appeared in Tests/List-As only but have zero ODI caps are also valid, as are those that have played T20s/T20Is only. All players will be drafted by managers with there being no country-based restrictions.

One question though - is this the sort of league where Don Bradman will be eligible, or is it the sort of league where everyone wants to pick Mark Butcher because he never played an ODI? (Basically, is it pre-ODI or post-ODI?)

Both are eligible for selection. Hell, one can even pick the likes of Frank Tarrant and Samuel Badree if they so wish or any player who has played a proper cricket match after 1877 - just as long as they haven't played any ODIs. You're still allowed a maximum of 2 players with ODI experience (10 ODIs or fewer) in a squad.

I mean, I could end up picking a pretty wacky team for this, because there are players I pick up in drafts and end up with more of an attachment to (like Tarrant and Alley)
