Living The Dream
There comes a time when your a child that decides who you're going to be, that time defines you. When I was 14, living in Birmingham, a world of fish 'n' chips, airfloaters and car parks for football pitches, I decided. Eighteen years later, I began to live that dream..
Eighteen years later....

I am now 32. And my dream has come true. To be manager of my boyhood team, Aston Villa. Everyone doubted me, but they shouldn't. I will prove everyone wrong. And live the dream.....

My first job as Villian manager was to strengthen our squad. When I first got into my new office, I logged into the PC and checked my e-mail, and sure to his word, Doug Ellis had sent me a message:

Home. Hopefully for a while..

My transfer budget for the season.
Welcome to Villa Park. I'm the Chairman, Doug Ellis and probably the person you'll talk to most. As you know, Villa is a respected club and we expect a safe mid-table position, possibly Europe. Don't let us down.
And I was expecting a kind hello and maybe a glass of champagne. Oh well..

I woke up this morning, checked into my home computer and found this on the Villa website..

OK, I admit. I was looking at signing Morten Gamst Pedersen as a replacement for the aging Patrick Berger, but Defoe? Hmm...
