i have tried uninstalling it and then installing it again but the problem doesnt go away.....

I think there might be a problem with your OS. Do other game work properly in your pc.

I guess Ankit is correct.Best thing to do is reinstall the OS.IT will definitely work

I think he shall install xp sp2 which is a beter option as xp is the mostly used OS with more compatibility
