I'm inclined to lynch Maney as well. I mean why would he so openly admit this? It would mean two things. Either that is actually the case or he wants to get out of it very easily (which he can by doing this).

Go like 7 posts back, I think I've put quite a bit of pressure on Ben, I just don't believe on jumping on the bandwagon and following the crowd. Ben is my first suspect, people like Zohaib, AP, Bevab etc are always gonna attract a lot of unwanted attention, I think Colin might be the poisoned one as well (although I kinda hope he is mafia so I can lynch him! )

Maney might be bluffing with us. As Colin said, he might have become a vengeful townie, joining the mafia consequently, or he's just the same - the cult - now able to recruit other players as well. Why would he become a vanilla townie is beyond me..

Ok yeah fair enough, understandable suspicion. But I counter with, even if I became the cult leader, who would I recruit? There isn't anyone else I could recruit, no-one in the game (I imagine) and certainly no-one in the film I could think of. (That said, I guess Faramir... Haha digging myself a cute little grave here.)
But no, I have become a powerless townie; it would certainly fit for me to be vengeful town or something, but alas, as with all Mafia game to date, I'm an everyday vanilla.

Sorry Ben don't believe you. A) Even if you can't recruit, the cult leader normally has some sort of anti-town role. B) I just don't believe you, by your own admission you have dug your own grave

Cult is separate from the town, I haven't heard of a cult member becoming a townie before either. Will wait some more for Ben to reply before I lynch him.

I'm not the cult leader though, that died with Denethor. Because I wasn't recruited, the cult died out. Think about it, Boromir was in the Fellowship, and indeed gave his life for the cause, so why would I be anti-town?

And as for the grave-digging, it was because I forgot he had a brother. But I doubt Faramir has been written into the game.

I agree that in the LOTR universe it wouldn't really make sense for Boromir to become mafia but this game doesn't have to follow the books exactly.
I think as a town we can do better by lynching someone else though. Maney2k9 can always be taken out later.
On the flipside I have a certain respect for user2010's hunches...

TBH I'm all for keeping Maney alive just now hence why I said "eventually" in my earlier post. Even if he does have an anti-town role it would be pretty dumb for him to use it because we can lynch him off pretty easily if we suspect any funny business on his part. I would also expect there to be something mentioned in the write-up if he had switched to mafia although it's not guaranteed.
