Searched through the forum and couldnt find one single thread for this brilliant TV series and so thought of creating one for some discussion about this show. Had started watching this show about a week back, and havent stopped watching ever since. Now into Season 2 of the show.

The first season was frigging' brilliant. Unlike 24, this one has huge highs, then some minor lows, and it flowed like the wave on a beach. The addition of ghosts and the haunted feeling put me off a little bit (because I hate horror!) but overall this TV series is just so gripping and addictive. I hate the flashback episodes of Sun and Jin because they are just so boring (always have to read the subtitles for that, and also very uninteresting).

Lost is the best show I've ever seen (to be fair, haven't seen many of renowned classic shows). Absolutely amazing from start to finish.

I think I am having a crush on Kate.:D How old must she be? She is one of the most sexiest woman I've seen in recent times (i.e. in my recent times). Always get irritated by Sawyer, but the guy seems to be turning a new leaf. Jack is the proverbial American TV series hero (is it co-incidental that the heroes of "Lost" and "24" are called Jack?). Naveen Andrews as Sayid is ordinary.

I like 24 more than Lost. I was bored midway through season 3 in Lost. I hope rest of the season are not that boring. Anyway Sawyer is my favorite character in the lost :p. First 2 seasons of lost were amazing. I'm on 5th season in 24 and there was not even a single boring episode. Pretty consistent. :thumbs

IMO the best series I've seen are "Prison Break" and "Friends".

I am on Season 2. Hope I dont find it boring in Season 3 like you did. My favorite character in Lost is John Locke and Kate (because she is beautiful and she is very good in acting too). Beauty and acting going so well together, I love that. Jack (Matthew Fox) is a typical Bollywood'ish hero character. The saccaharine sweet guy. I hate Sawyer to guts, but the actor is bloody good at it. I think Ana Lucia is interesting too. She can be another hero in the plot.

Yes, 24 is amazing. Make sure you post in my "24" tv series thread too.:D

I dont wanna spoil your story so i wont tell you why i started liking Sawyer. By the way, have you played Just Cause 2. The game developers must be crazy fans of lost. Because there is a island in the game exactly like the island in the Lost and when you approach that island in a plane all the atmosphere darkens and then lost background music plays. A lightning would strike the plane and oyu would crash exactly where that big plane crashes. :p

Season 3 is quite dull to be honest. But it picks up in season 4.
I think the episode "constant" is the best of the season.
It gets even better in the later seasons.
The ending was just beautiful!
Sigh, I miss the show :(

I hate the flashbacks in Lost especially the Chinese ones.

But great TV show nevertheless, finished all 6 seasons - hated the ending, its just like wtf this was stupid.

I hate the flashbacks too. I actually skip the Chinese flashbacks and a few ones of Eko (since I watch it on Netflix). I guess they cant sustain the thrill element and so they often intersperse it with flashbacks, which are so boring.

Not really, I mean in the end, lost was never about its mysteries, they just had a plot about it. It was more about the characters.
in that way they ended it based on the character and left the rest to open interpretation.
I thought the very last scene was the perfect way to end a show.

I think the flashbacks were great. They're necessary to build on the character.

Agreed.

They're Korean bro.

Lost WAS about its mysteries just as much as it was about its characters. Majority of the people didn't have their question's answered about various mysteries by the end of the show (such as how the island worked, what governs the golden light, etc) but the fact is they WERE answered, just not spoonfed in a chronological order as you'd exepct. You'll have to watch the series or important episodes multiple times to have such questions answered. The Lost Encyclopedia, Lost Wikipedia and the internet generally is a good source to have such questions answered if you don't want to watch through the series multiple times. Its no Inception or Memento to figure out but its up there.

Did you try dimension hopping? There might be a parallel universe where that is true! :D

Just gets so much on my nerves when I see Kate making it out with that Sawyer when the chemistry between her and Jack is just so good. I am getting close to the end of Season 3. Any romantic link in the offing between Jack and Kate? THEY ARE THE PAIR THAT NEEDS TO BE TOGETHER! They're perfect for each other. Hate seeing Kate with Sawyer.:mad

The mysteries was a part of the plot, I agree. But the main focus was always the convoluted relationship of its inhabitants. I mean look at the final season itself, one has so say there were so many unanswered mysteries. The reason why they never answered them was because they were secondary to the character themselves. Lost was a character driven show- Hence the different perspectives every time. This is why the producers finished a character driven show with the characters themselves and not tying the last bits of unknown mysteries.
