Making bowling more enjoyable, seeing weather/pitch effects etc. - invitation to playtest

Made a big mess... ..Started my innings, but had to leave after 2 overs.....And of course I go and select Forfeit, and yes. (was in a hurry) :facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm

So, starting a test again, same teams. Random pitch. I'm bowling first again. This time, I am trying to use the exact same delivery (or as close as possible) for each ball in the 1st 24 overs. No edges, and batsman playing solidly safe again, with the only risky shots going to open areas on the field. After the 24th over, I am starting to use a different delivery (again for every ball, or as close as possible).

I have activated "quick pitch wear", to see how this will play out later in the match as well.

Pitch : Random
Difficulty : Legend
Quick pitch wear : Yes
Weather : Random with chance of rain (All clear skies so far)

Pitch wear from 1st ball, to 1 ball of 24th over

From my experiance the edges dry up beyond pro mode.

Still had 3 edges yesterday though. It's not alot, but I'll take it. lol. I'm now also trying to see, if variation in deliveries are as important as it should be, by bowling the same ball over and over again. The 1st 24 over had no results of a wicket. Will be bowling a different delivery for the next 24 overs. lol

Cant say for sure. But in one of my innings New Zealand were 256-5

Guptill was 127 i took the new ball and he nicked off second over with it to keeper

Cheers . I wonder why we just arent hearing Anything from ba on this. I guess they must be just really busy.

Has the new ball proven to have an effect in this setup?

Just uploaded these. This is from the last ball of the OLD ball, at over 79.5

And then from the 1st ball, of the NEW ball.

Both outswing, at the same pace, with Medium-Fast bowlers. And this is with the current skills setup.

Hope this helps.

Well we have asked many questions but just dont get answers. I am not knocking them but it would be good if they could be clear on things: otherwise there is a sense of them not wanting to communicate anymore.
My hunch is they don't want to give away info that they figure might be used for exploits??

Also the logic of this experiment is they made a big mess up translating skills into gameplay and they may not want to admit that :)

But surely the progress you guys are making with this could save them some time looking into problems that were just down to attributes... Seems strange tbh with you guys trying stuff out to better the experience for everyone, how they don't give a few pointers here or there...I always thought it was strange when you asked about the attributes before and no answer from them. Ill also try your teams blocker and see how it goes. Which team do i need to be again?

tbh i feel a bit of a douche saying they didn't give us enough information when they gave us loads; but they definitely needed to be more open regarding the skilling - a lot of issues seem to be a result of over-skilling.

use Weaklings and England Rebel XI 1982 - it shouldn't matter which of the two you are.

@Krokenoster - what's the logic in using the same delivery?[DOUBLEPOST=1429018630][/DOUBLEPOST]

i think some, but less than the weather

Well, as was mentioned in some thread, there was a statement made (not sure who or where, can't remember), that it's like the AI loses a wicket, regardless of what you do. It's as if it's predetermined on which over/ball they lose a wicket.

I played 60 overs, bowling only 3 different deliveries, and spread them out, by using only 1 type of delivery+length+speed for 24 overs, and then switching, and was not able to take a single wicket. In the 61st over, I decided to switch over to a spinner.....1st ball, wicket fell.

It leads me to believe, that wickets that fall being predetermined, is not true.

If this makes sense? lol

Edit : By the way, since changing back to different deliveries, like cricket should be, I have taken two wickets. lol
