I am quite baffled to see how we keep repeating similar mistakes over and over again.
This scheduled tour of SA in Dec did raise few concerns in coach and players' minds to bring about few last minute decisions. Many are thankful that atleast this time around requested changes have been addressed to, unlike Kirsten's last minute requests for practice camps prior to scheduled Test series against Australia. I thought this SA tour would be last of those cramped international tours with no practice matches. But if cricinfo's information on next year calender is correct ( http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/match/fixtures/calendar.html ), we've done it again!!
Soon after the World Cup, many representing Indian team would be engaged with IPL. Now there is a full tour vs WI (3 tests, 5 ODIs, 1T20) right after IPL, starting 04th June'11. Even more saddening rather laughable is the fact that WI tour (04/06/11 to 10/07/11) is followed by tour of Eng (1st Test on 21st July) with only 10 days gap in between.
All fans and critics of Indian cricket, especially of the ranking system, keep saying of how important these tours to SA and Eng are but then our cricket calender is a complete joke.
