Japan started strongly and looked set to mount a monster score. However, two quick wickets from Rens de Wit pushed them back. They were able to jump to 200 thanks to some late order hitting, supported by a steady fifty from Taicharo Shusake. On a bowling-friendly pitch, Japan will like their chances of defending the total.

Netherlands started briskly, threatening to batter down the target. Faas Vermeulen and Arnout Lauman made a strong partnership to defy the Japanese bowlers. But Yuki Hitoshi provided the crucial middle order wickets, followed by some exceptional death bowling by Fukutsuchi Norihisa to take his side to the trophy.

Japan are the inaugrual Maritime champions!

Well Deserved win for Japan, they held their nerves to defend such a total. They bowled well to clear our Middle to Tail enders in such a low score. Kudos to the organizers, we have to improve a lot. Was a fun tournament.

From our side our Captain performed well as always leading the team from front but 1 man cant carry the whole team always, need balance 10 to support him. We will get there no doubt.

Faas Vermeulen receives the orange cap (172 runs)
Rens de Wit receives the purple cap (12 wickets)
Yuki Hitoshi is the MVP of the tournament (136 runs and 7 wickets)

You can check out the top wicket takers and run scorers on the first page.

Good game for your Dutch team as they did push us and in some way was unlucky to not secure the victory. Thank you to the organizers for hosting this great tournament and if their is a second edition, you can count us in.

I will be ok with making this a yearly event. Lets see how our international schedule is linesup.
