Melbourne Bitters 06/07 Team Thread

As I said before, you have to be very careful about what you post in the cricket chat forum. I've been given two bad reps in that thread.

Yeah, its filled with idiots. I try and not pass my comments anymore in chat thread. Simply borish newspaper stuff.

Reps are sooooooo overrated.

Pple seem to worship them so if anyone tries to start a fight with me I just negative rep them. :p
I agree, although I want to see the different comments :d. If I cared that much I'd stop posting, but I just like arguing with idiots. I was once disappointed when I convinced someone to agree with me and change their opinion :p

I think "today" might be a bit optimistic- you guys may want to use the extra time to practice a bit, see you tomorrow

Damn, was looking to bat with Brad469.

More like you need practice on you're fitness, half the reason you got runout is because you simply couldn't keep up with my standard. I'm coming off a match winning hundred remember?

Run forest, run. ;)

I recommend keeping an all-rounder at the very least in od though, instead of one batsman, because otherwise pures share the bowling workload in OD.

Just play 5 bowlers in OD's and 4 in FC. Genuiely if it comes down to the tail then the teams on the brink of losing. Usually in one of these games, you'll see a team lose 5-6 wickets if they have any chance of winning. A batsman will still bowl 1 or 2 overs at maximum still, but that doesn't really matter. They might go from 6-10 an over which is okay, it's better then having an allrounder bowl 6-7 and go for 6-10 and the pure bowlers will make up with that anyway.
We're just putting the best possible team on the park if we play all pures.

BTW, instead of batting allrounders can't we have part-timers? Like a pure batsman with a batting average of 45 and a bowl average of 40 or something? And have a maximum of 2 per side or something?

It'd have to have variation though, it would be silly for one person to be 45 and 99, and one 45 and 40. Perhaps you can trade and be 40 and 40?
