Mid Career Education & Courses

I know quite a few of us here are in the mid-career phase. Just wanted to start this thread here and see where this leads to. Ideally looking at having a discussion on mid-career education opportunities/ online free learnings or thoughts on short term/ long term courses by leading universities.

Like in India, the IIMs have their 5-10 day courses which tend to give alumni status to its participants. NUS Singapore also has something similar. Any members here who've done something of this sort?

Just did a Data science for business certification from Harvard University’s online division.

Not sure if this qualifies but I'm learning game dev in my spare time. Just something I've always been interested in and it's a big contrast with the high stress job that I have. Gives me something to look forward to

That is such a fun outlet. Check our Construct 3. Very easy to build games and release it.

Surely it does! I have been feeling of late- that anything you do to upskill yourself adds value to your overall well-being. Comes in handy at some point in time and can be developed further into a hobby as well!

Doing AWS dev associate and springboot these days, pretty long courses and with my history of leaving them midway could mean that I stop, but been making some steady progress every day these days.
Lets hope I can wrap it before my AWS free trial finishes.

The free tier of AWS definitely helps. I am getting into a new role in 2025 with more added responsibilities, I was hoping to do CompTia A+ certification.

Recently also became a scrum master because thats the hip thing to do lol!

This is probably the easiest certification anyone can do. As long as you understand simple concepts you should be able to pass this

Goal is to start easy and keep going up. I have always been a software developer but company wants to put me in charge of IT as well.

So the opposite of me... I've been in IT, now learning software (game) dev
