I did think that, get Daley fighting straight after at 105 against Swick when he KO's Kampmann in 30 seconds. :D

Cro Cop would be great to see back, doubt it will happen but it would have been great to see how his takedown defense went on against Lesnar. Would love to see him use that cemetery leg to knock out Lesnar. :D

Of course he's not next in line, but if he shows some of his form from his PRIDE days then he could get himself back in the reckoning with a few victories. I'd love to see the old Cro Cop back, he was a beast in PRIDE.

I think that he is way past his prime, and not to mention that since coming to the UFC he hasn't shown anything that resembles the old Cro Cop.

In the end with Cro Cop it comes down to him being too one dimensional and in the UFC that doesn't work because the other fighters will exploit that as soon as he steps into the ring.

He was always as one dimensional in PRIDE, so I don't think that's an issue.

Also, using his stint in the UFC as proof that he's past his prime is a little harsh. He was suffering from a series of injuries, and has recently had surgery to fix his injured knee iirc. He seems pumped up to give the UFC a real go. Nogueira proved what can be done if you're fully fit, as he clearly wasn't in the Mir fight, and I'd love to see Cro Cop put in a similarly dominant performance. I guess we'll have to wait and see, I'm not going to expect anything remarkable from Cro Cop, as there is a fair chance that he is just past his prime, but I'm not going to write him off yet.

yea but whenever he fought someone with good ground game and submissions he had a hard time.
In the UFC he hasn't even impressed standing up. He was completely dominated by Cheick Kongo in their fight.
I would really like to see him perform like he did in Pride but I think he is past that.

Wasn't he already in it? Youtube.:spy

Nop he was in another MMA company, EliteXC.

Considering he was only submitted once in his entire time in PRIDE I'm not entirely convinced he struggled too badly. The only guy that Subbed him was Minatauro, one of the better Heavyweight Jiu-Jitsu practioners in the world. Fedor couldn't submit Cro Cop.

As for Cro-Cop's struggles. He was suffering badly for a long time with quite a bad knee injury, which resulted in him having knee surgery after the Hong Man-Choi fight. So I think you've got to give him abit of time to get settled. Look at Shogun, had major reconstructive surgery on both his knees, and struggled in his first fight back against Coleman.

As for the Kongo fight. He can't have been dominated that badly. Kongo won by unanimous decision, and the scorecards show, that if Kongo had a point taken off for the illegal groin strikes (which he should have) then it would have been a draw. That's hardly a domination.

I reckon he could be past it as well, but I'm not willing to write him off yet, as he's only had 1 fight since his bad knee injury and surgery. I see Dos Santos winning by KO in the 2nd, but I'm not going to completely write Mirko off yet. Think there's still some good fights left in the tank yet.

My Predictions for 103:

Rich Franklin vs Vitor Belfort
Mirko Cro Cop vs Junior Dos Santos
Martin Kampmann vs Paul Daley
Josh Koscheck vs Frank Trigg
Tyson Griffin vs Hermes Franca

I disagree. I've heard alot of good stuff about Vitor Belfort since he got himself back into serious training. He's now working real hard with Randy Couture at Xtreme Couture, and Randy seems incredibly positive about the work Vitor is doing. He performed brilliantly in Affliction, with his quickfire knockout of Lindland looking like the old Belfort that stormed into the UFC at 19. He's one of the most naturally gifted strikers in MMA, and his coaches say he could walk into Professional boxing and take on the top 10 of his weight class. I like Rich Franklin alot, I admire his intelligent approach to training immensely, but I see Vitor coming out on top in this fight. Just have to wait and see.

Yep. On ESPN HD at 3am iirc. Got UFC 103 and the Mayweather-Marquez fight tonight. I still have Friday Fight Night to watch from last night as well. Lots of stuff to watch :D

TUF10 on Five USA tonight at 11.05pm as well for people in the UK. Not on ESPN.

I too shall be watching Mayweather and UFC tonight. Will be the last time I get to watch Sky for ages 'coz I move to Leeds for Uni tomorrow. :(

4/5 predictions correct :D On my news blog I predicted that Daley would have an advantage if it stayed standing, but presumed that Kampmann would take Daley down, and would have an advantage there, so went for Kampmann.

Nice to see I was right about Belfort. 1st round KO predicted and that's what Vitor delivered. Just a shame that Cro Cop didn't look like the Cro Cop of old, as I'd hoped. Just looked very tentative and sort of scared to pull the trigger as he was worried about Dos Santos's counter power. He was continually trying to set up the high kick by pushing Dos Santos away, hoping for a mistake, but it just never came.

Real good event though, lived up to what I was hoping for. We might get to see Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort now as well which would be an awesome fight. Dana mentioned Henderson-Marquardt at the post-fight conference, so I can see a Silva-Belfort fight with the winner taking on the winner of Hendo-Nate. The Middleweight division looking real strong atm.

I expect to see Daley-Swick in the near future, or maybe Anthony Johnson could come into the mix as well. At least there are some Welterweight prospects starting to come through. Competition looking good in the UFC.

Got tons right last night, only picked 2 wrong winners. Paul you are a legend. :D Really enjoyed the card although that might be because we got wasted and did some back garden sparring. Scored a KO too :D Can't wait to go train tomorrow now. Sky+ is a beast too helping you get through to the action.

Let's see Daley at 105 against Swick like I said :D

So Crop Cop did what I expected him to do. He sucked.

Good win for Belfort, should put him in the mix for Silvas title.
