Mohammad Yousuf set to retire

Well it sucks for Yousuf because almost everyone around him was creating problems. I don't know what he got banned for exactly but he isn't/wasn't the only guy creating problems. Now that he is retired he can become a free agent and go play English country and maybe the IPL. I'm sure many counties in England would want him.

Sad way for one of Pakistan's great batsmen to leave the game. His time is probably up but this is not the way his career should be ending.

He deserves to go this way. Yousaf may have been a great bastman but he was lame player under pressure. I struggle to recall any last day innings he has played to win or save a match for us. He was no where near Inzimam as a match winner. His hundreds were of least use to the team most of the times. I give a rats ass if he goes or stays.

thats a great loss to pakistan cricket he was the most run getter in 2006 and created many records for pakistan

IF you guys read the article carefully, it seems like a pressure tactic on the PCB. He says that this decision is for now, meaning that if things change he can undo his retirement decision. What a joke, should have either retired completely or not at all :facepalm

What a shame. But PCB has a history of ill-treating their legends. So its not really surprising.

Also, MoYo signed out with a shot bang in the PCB's abdomen by saying- "I received a letter from the PCB that my staying in the team is harmful for the team, so I announce my retirement from international cricket."

Thats one of the most vicious low-blows he's delivered in a long long time. So I won't be surprised if PCB is forced to eat their words and welcome him back :p

Bunch of drama queens.

I won't be surprised if he comes back for the test series in England.

Full marks for hitting right on the money :laugh

I still think he's one of the best batsmen that Pakistan has. Yeah, sure he may not have played the 'Miandad' or 'Waugh' innnings on the last day, but not many players ever have. What you cannot argue with is that he has played many first innings that have put Pakistan in a position where they can't lose the game, and that's just as effective.

He ends up with a better career average batting at 4 & 5 than Inzamam or Miandad. Although his peak was obviously between '01-'06, he's still a talent that many young players would do well to copy.

I really worry for Pakistan cricket at the moment, as they seem to be imploding the way Windies did in the 90's.

PCB needs to hire a PR Agency pronto. Now the PCB chief selector is saying that Mohd. Yousuf is still part of the plans... wtf? Then why the 'F' did you hand him the indefinite ban in the first place if he is still part of the plans. This PCB management has taken Pakistan cricket at an all time low.... and that includes Woolmer's sudden death after Pakistan's early exit.....
