Most Amazing Cricket Moments

It isn't a gift. There is reason behind that dismissal.

The batsmen nicked the previous ball and got caught, but the umpire called not out and immediately called for over.
This matter was discussed by the batsman and umpire , but he couldn't go back to the dressing room as the umpire had called the over.
So they agreed that he would be given out and walk the next ball he faced.
That's all. :)

A reply in youtube. However I have heard about this story from various sources too.

Well I had read that comment but didn't believe as there's only one person who said that, plus he hasn't shown proof to prove his statement right. Still don't and won't believe until I get a massive evidence. I just believed something that I seen in the video.

Amazing umpiring - Bowler had a free gift. :facepalm

What the hell?

EDIT: Oh going by the comments on the video, it still seems very odd.

I thought the reaction and body language of everyone involved seems to match the story ..

No one appeals. The batsman looks at the umpire throughout and when the finger is raised, walks off without showing any displeasure over what would have usually been a howler of epic proportions

No one appeals.

Hence the gift.

Edit: Even if that story is true, we have never seen such daft incidents in Cricket. I still remember Dhoni calling back Ian Bell who was out. But never seen such incident where the batsman is judged as not out but later, on next ball or over leaving the pitch without any reason. If he knew he was out he should have left the ground that moment without waiting and wasting match time. Some players had left down their wicket if they were out but given not out and rest had adhered on the pitch.

Haha, India actually went on to win this match (I think maybe the only ODI we won on that tour) with Robin Uthappa hitting the winning runs in the last over, and Ravi Shastri made his legendary call:

"Uthappa, you beauty!! You deserve ten dosas!"
