Tuskers start on Day 2 was ordinary as they lost wicket keeper batsman Wheater early on the day. Wheater was out on 19 from a beautiful inswinging yorker from Masakadza which meant Tuskers had lost their second wicket on 32 runs.
A could be match winning partnership came at a right time for Tuskers as Horton and Ewing contributed 134 runs for the 3rd wicket. This meant that Tuskers now only trail by 46 runs. A little contribution from the middle order especially from SC Williams & Charles Conventary saw Tuskers pass the Mountaineers first inning score and gave them the crucial lead of 49 runs.
Mountaineers having 15 overs before the end of days play, played negatively that is defended too many deliveries. The one that was there to hit was also defended. Both the openers could not help getting their team out of trouble as both departed within a span of 2 overs. Vermulen was out for 9 whereas Mawoyo was out on 14. Mountaineers were struggling on 29 for 2 still trailing by 20 runs. Overseas batsman Liam Dawson & Hamilton Masakadza batted out further without losing a wicket and Mountaineers ended on 39 for 2 at the end of Day 2 still trailing by 10 runs.

Well, Mountaineers gave 171 runs target to the Matebeleland by scoring 219 runs with some good batting efforts from the old monk Hamilton Masakadza & C Ncube. They added 88 runs partnership for 6th wicket before Masakadza was trapped LBW. Wickets tumbled from other end but Ncube handled his end very nicely and scored a brisk half century. It was Sean Williams delivery which he tried to work on for cover drive got edged it to Coventry. Mountaineers were bundled on 219 runs.
Matebeleland's chase started perfectly without losing wicket for 24 runs but Liam Dawson the English men went passed Duffin's defense and cleaned him up. Tuskers lost their second wicket on 54 and third on 80 but were in no trouble at any stage as PJ Horton was going strong from one end. With Wheater he added 38 runs partnership before the Liam Dawson storm stuck. Tuskers collapsed and had no answer to Liam Dawson's reverse swings and collapsed on 163 runs just 7 short of their target. Mountaineers used only 3 bowlers and persisted with them throughout. Dawson took 6 wickets and Utseya took 4. Mountaineers won a hard fought match.
