Now, seeing as I am a good samaritan and extremely honest, I think it's only fair that I should post this up, rather than me running around with bazillions of vCash.

OK, so normally I'm poor. I had just 2252 vCash after losing it all somehow. I went to bet it on an event, finished betting, good. However, instead of it displaying I now have 0 vCash, I supposedly have 1270863501816202537 vCash or some random number like that. Although, I do understand.. if it's too much effort for you admins... don't worry about it, I'll sort it out. By spending it. :D

Anyway, I realise you can't fix this as this is a vBulletin forum with vBookie installed only, but I think it would only be fair if an admin lowered my vCash back to 0. Or perhaps 100,000. Considering I was honest about it. :p

See children? You won't get in trouble if you tell the truth.

LOL Look at the co incidence! :p

I went to the casino with some odd 500k to make money for blake[of course for myself as well], gift him some for his honesty, and then I see that my own money was 18446744073709511616. :p

Another case you need to fix Syl! :p

Anyone who has any idea why it does this and can stop it happening will get 100 Million vCash. I suspect it is some weird number encoding error or a wrong multiplication or something (divide by zero error?).

I can work a day on it for that kind of cash. :p

The fact that it occurs only sometimes makes me think its either a wrong condition somewhere, or that a server timeout causes it. Either ways I'd need php files of teh casino and vBookie to know. :)

Haha Kshitiz, quite ironic. :D

Do you want me to see if I can recreate it in an attempt to find out the problem? Or am I too untrustworthy and will I only use the money for my personal gains? :p

The strange thing is that yours happened in the vBookie and mine happened in Casino. Which means the problem lies somewhere in the routine both of them share.
When exactly and how did yours happen though? Would help.

I did mine in the normal process. I went to an event, put all my money on it, clicked bet, and then when it refreshed, it said I had 1240823423652798 vCash and I could make more bets.

well it is glitched. i had 752 and i put 100 on Hampshire in one of the Cricket Betting matches and ended up with just over 80,000 when the page refreshed.

I think that this problem is due to some calculation errors.
My guess is that it multiplies the correct integer but it divdes the Vcash by a negative number (thats the reason I used the term INTEGER aboe)
If the dividing problem is solved, i think it will be proper.

Could this be due to the decimal point? I think vCash is stored as a decimal and it apparently gets converted to an integer every once in a while. So if blake had 2251.6, for example, and bet 2252, in the calculation he would be left with -0.4. This would then be converted from floating point to integer, resulting in a large-ish number depending on how many bits are being used (I'm guessing 32).

That's actually a reasonable assumption Sohum, and that very well could be the case for mine - but Hedger claimed he had 752 vCash and only bet 100, and it ended up glitching. Even if it was a floating point number, it wouldn't need to change to an integer.. the only way I can see it glitching is if you bet all of your vCash like I did.

Who knows?

Its happened with me now. I had 7.4 million cash in bank. When I bet 200k in Essdon vs Western Coast match, I ended up with infinite amount of money.

I have now $1.8446744073709E+19 in hand.

Could the mods fix this :)
