Los Angeles Lakers (1) vs. Houston Rockets (5)
The Lakers were expected to stampede through to at least the Western Conference final, if not the NBA Finals. Led by former league MVP Kobe Bryant and a solid core formed of Pau Gasol and the veteran Lamar Odom, the Lakers had the second-best record in the NBA this year. They trampled the Utah Jazz 4-1 in the first round.

The Rockets have struggled with injuries throughout the season, resulting in Tracy McGrady finally calling an end on his season in February. They've got a dynamic, young team that places a strong emphasis on defense. Yao Ming towers in the backcourt and Ron Artest provides a good combination of defense and offense.

NOTE: The Rockets upset the Lakers in Game 1 of this series and lead 1-0.

Odds
Rockets: 13/4
Lakers: 4/17

Players to Watch Out For
The Lakers have Kobe Bryant in the front-court as well as veteran Derek Fisher. They have a solid backcourt with Pau Gasol, the youngster Andrew Bynum and the left-handed Lamar Odom. The Rockets do not boast as many stars, with their backcourt comprising of Yao Ming, defensive specialist Ron Artest and utility player Luis Scola. Off the bench, one must look out for Von Wafer, who has been electric, at times.
