DONT buy on Ebay. The bats are very rarely what they say they are. They may look the part, but if you look closely they're often a different shape to the proper model. That's an awful Kahuna copy, the stickers look nothing like that, they're far too dark, and that's way too cheap for a Kahuna. That bat RRP's at ?150 in the UK, it's a fake. Loads of online cricket stores ship abroad, what's your price range?

Not much :p. $100 tops, although I would really not like to spend more then $50. Shipping to the US is very expensive though.

Tbh, the guy has gotten good reviews and the bat looks alright... although i'm no expert.

Yeh, you're not going to get anything worth using for that price, especially $50. You'll more than likely get a bat which says it's English Willow but nurtured in India, which means it's basically Kashmir Willow, which frankly is not going to last and then it'll be stickered and called a Kookaburra or whatever, when in actual fact it's just a cheap Indian bit of willow with some cheap Kookaburra rip off stickers on it. What are you going to be using the bat for? Competitive matches?

Yeah, lots of competition. A few weeks of solid net play in the acadamy and then hopefully will turn up for a few matches down in Chennai and represent a city here in the US again.

Oh right, I reckon you'll need to spend a little more then tbh, especially if you want something that'll last. What would be the absolute maximum you could stretch to?

Hmm. That looks too good to be true IMO.

Get a Reebok if you're looking at big hitting I say.

That's because it is. It's a clear fake, there's no doubt about it. I'm 100% certain it's a fake, the fact Kookaburra don't use English Willow nurtured in India proves it, as does the fact the stickers are poorly coloured.

$150 is definitely alot better I think. You'll be able to pick up something decent with that. Try this for example, if you e-mail the company you can get a price for international shipping, and you'll get yourself a decent bat, GN 4 star's are more than decent, and will do a much better job than that cheap Kookaburra fake.

Thanks man, although its a stretch it surely does help.

However, I think I might just get one of those fakes for the fun of it :p. It's only $12 anyways, what could go wrong?

You may as well just buy a blank actual English Willow bat then, probably be cheaper, you'll probably end up with a better bat. Then you can buy the stickers you want from Ebay. You're right though, $12 you may as well, never know it might be alright, just give it a good knocking in before using it and it may turn out well, just don't expect Kookaburra performance ;). One bloke at my club bought some random DAR bat or something from Ebay for about ?10 and it lasted him a full season and a half before it broke, you can't really break a bat with a forward defensive though tbh :p

it could completely fall apart first shot. Kashmir willow bats tend to have a solid middle but very poor quality. I have a Gray Nicholls powerbow 5 star which cost ?140 or there abouts which is roughly $193. It's pricey for you but you're not going to get anything decent for less that ?100 really. My bat is great quality and has a beautiful middle. light pick-up but allows you to play well timed shots that rocket to the boundary.

It's not Kashmir Willow though, it's apparently English Willow, but just nurtured in India. My Kashmir Woodworm didn't crack too easily, and I didn't knock it in. It's only $12, may as well buy it and see what happens, if it breaks, just buy a proper bat. If the cheap Kookaburra's prepared well enough it should last a good few months of use, I just wouldn't expect top quality performance.
