Yeah, i'll probably buy an external hard drive when its needed... Even an internal Sata disk wont be much of a problem... hardly costs anything nowadays ;)

Hey needed to know something, What is the performance of external hard disks (usb variety or the sata ones)...
imo..the usb must be painfully slow?

Which also leads to the question, did you get USB 2.0? With 2.0 it'll be a breeze transferring, saving and such.

Without 2.0 then you're in a little trouble.

ya its USB 2.0 ( it's a basic necessity these days.. n question of not having that ;))
I have not used external hdd's before, that's why i was curious.
I assume they get their power from the usb port itself?

What's the case with the sata ones? do we need external power for them?

It'll probably need external power, you'll obviously get a cable with it. I know mine has.

Has anyone ever had issues with an external DVD drive?

Well i had external cd writer by HP and it worked without any problem. So i dont see any reason why external DVD Drive will have any problem.
