New Feature - Change your own username

We have generally discouraged username changes on PlanetCricket in the past, however as it is one of the most common requests - I'd now like to announce a new option to let you change your own username.

There is a 180 day waiting period between user name change requests - so be very sure that you want to make a change and that you have spelt it correctly.

I would ask users to place old usernames in their AKA field when you have made a change - so that other users can still identify you. That was the main reason for avoiding large name changes in the past and it is still a good guide.

Usernames that are offensive, designed to mislead members, or too close to another user may be overridden by staff and you reset back to your old name and blocked from using the system. Particularly serious cases may result in bans.

In short, be sensible with this new option.

'Change Username' is an option under the menu with your current name on it (left of the Inbox menu).

Is there a 180 day waiting period for new users to be able to change the name they signed up with?

Has this function been disabled?
Been here longer than 180 days but can't change name.
