This is why I'm getting the 60GB one now, they are discontinuing that model and bringing out this new one. It has no backwards compatibility which would make my PS2 games almost bankrupt and to be honest, I want 60GB.

This new model would suit me more than the one I have! It is smaller, so I would be able to watch TV from my bed without it being in the way and it costs a lot less! I don't use much space and I don't have any PlayStation 2 games.

I'd wait Phil, the 60gb will be replaced with an 80gb for the same price. They're not stupid enough to only offer a sub-standard version as opposed to a proper version. The 40gb is to replace the 20gb version that was discontinued in the US and Japan and never released here. The 60gb wont be discontinued for a while, but it will be replaced with the 80gb version fairly soon.
