Story New Zealand - A Force To Be Reckoned With [NZ's 2014/15 Player Profiles COMPLETE]

So Sri Lanka take the ODI series as well. Hopefully NZ will have learned something from this tour and make it count next time around. Jayawardene batted superbly and was rightly the MOTM. Vettori and Taylor fought gallantly but the odds were always against them. NZ is a talented team consisting of Ryder, Guptill and McCullum but they need to perform when it matters. I think the NZ have made a tactical error in not playing two spinners throughout the series. With the series over it may be the right thing to do.

It's a shame Greg Hay didn't make an impact in the test series.

I would of liked to play two spinners... but the sad thing is New Zealand do not have two class spinners in ICC. J. Patel and N. McCullum both have very poor FC records, hence the are absolute mud in ICC and would just get owned by a class outfit such as Sri Lanka.

If anyone has discovered a gem in the New Zealand spin department feel free to tell me.

Iain Robertson has done alright for me although I tend to use him more for his batting, can hold the bat as well. Bowling Ave of 42 in Test and 38 in One Day and 14 in T20. Not ideal by any means but if Jeetan and McCullum aren't doing well for you.

Yeah Iain Robertson was in my Test squad, but he didn't get a game. I dropped him from the ODI as he was defensive and if he played he would be batting down the order a bit which wouldn't be ideal. I might give him ago on the Pakistan tour depending on how other players go.

Despite being defensive he does well batting for me in T20's, averages 43 after 7matches (5 innings.) Also averages 21 in ODi's and 15 in Tests. He seems to be useful when it comes to holding the lower order together. Always manages to post 20-50 if the top order fail.
I'm also in your spinning predicament. Brendon Diamanti perhaps? I've used him twice when Vettori was injured. All together in the two Test's he playerd he took 144/3.

Is Brendon Diamanti a spinner in ICC? In real life he is medium-fast...

A shocker from NZ but Hays perfomance should give them some confidence. After seeing Elliot rip pakistan yesterday, wondering whether you should have given him a go. I dont know whether you have him in ICC 2009, since I never played it.

Major Announcement

I am going to put this story on hold, but it is by no means over.

In about a months time I have exams, so I will be starting to prepare from them soon. I just feel now is a good time to put it on hold as I have come to an end of the Sri Lankan tour.

As it is getting a bit repetitive for me just writing about New Zealand losing, it will allow me some time to think about new ways to improve my story. Such as maybe introducing batter graphics etc. as they seem more popular than writing at the moment.

In case your wondering, I will have no problem finishing my Interactive World T20 Cup before my exams start, and I will continue with my PlanetCricket County story, even if their are not as many updates during this period.

I hope you'll continue to follow my story when I start up again in about one and a half months time. Thanks a lot for all your feedback and positive comments, over the couple of months I have been writing. :cheers

Yeah, the reviews are interesting and pretty original. Despite not commenting on this story as much as I should, I do follow it closely. I thought you were unlucky not to get more votes in the most recent SOTM, I have a hunch when you come back you will win or at least get really close to winning a SOTM because your writing is up there with the best out there. I actually think your presentation is very neat and easy to follow, too.
If you want to work on Graphics, playing on ICC I guess in game screenshots aren't the best idea, although some hawkeye analysis could be useful? Personally I find photos from Cricinfo can be good to accompany a summary a day's play.
Another thing that you can do to enhance your graphics is to request banners etc. for games in the Graphics Forum. The guys there can do some pretty cool stuff and it does help the story just look that little bit better.
Although I agree with the likes of Surendar and others in that a good storyline and writing are more important than graphics, it does seem that stories with striking graphics are just a little bit more popular.
Having said all that about graphics- it looks like you still get plenty of comments and the Fantasy cricket you organised was run really well.

Sorry, a load of waffle, but I was just writing things as I thought of them...
KUTGW when you return, good luck with your exams!
