It appears that perhaps a lot of people in the cricket may have been too quick to discredit Lalit Modi's accusations against Chris Cairn just because, well, he's Lalit Modi.

A bunch of NZ batsman are getting investigated right now regarding alleged match fixing. The case appears to centre around Lou Vincent, Cairns and Tuffey but more may be involved as Vincent has apparently tried to enter a plea bargain and has given details to the ICC about other matches and players

McCullum said he was approached at one point but reported it to the ICC

Cairns is player named as Player X - Sport - NZ Herald News

The Herald can reveal that the player being named as Player X in evidence to the international cricket inquiry is New Zealand legend Chris Cairns.

The Herald has been told by multiple sources that the former allrounder has been named in testimony to the ICC's anti-corruption unit (ACSU), referred to as Player X, by Lou Vincent and current captain Brendon McCullum.

He is alleged to have attempted to manipulate games, including in India when he was captain of the Chandigarh Lions in the short lived Indian Cricket League.

Yeah this is all pretty screwed up, really not sure what to make of it. Still so much more to come out I presume, because someone had to get Cairns involved in it.
